his dad got sick and passed away (im pretty sure after innerspeaker) because suns coming up on lonerism is also about him. i think they had at least a decent relationship, but as a musician himself, he told kevin pursuing it professionally would loose the magic. a couple years ago in an interview he said “he was wrong”
@mallorymiller35925 жыл бұрын
suns coming up is really sad and i know that their relationship wasn’t great but i think i remember hearing that his dad loved music so much and gave kevin his first guitar that’s why i think that his dad meant something to him and was a big influence on his music

Posthumous Forgiveness is a masterpiece. The way it switches to the second part... and goes from him being angry at his dad to forgiving his dad.. wow. Tomorrow’s Dust is beautiful. And On Track is literally the soundtrack to my life. I love him so much. There’s no other artist i resonate with more.

I know this is a hot take but this album really disappointed me. It just didn’t grab me the way currents or lonerism did, very few of the songs had really interesting soundplay, instead resorting to having this annoying phaser effect on literally every song. Breathe Deeper had literally no reason to go on for 6 minutes. Is It True feels absolutely unnecessary, bland and incomplete, Glimmer has literally no reason to exist, and One More Hour was a really underwhelming closer that should’ve hit way harder than it did. The rest of the tracks range from Ok (One More Year, Tomorrow’s Dust), to really good (Borderline, Posthumous Forgiveness) But that’s just my opinion.
