Made this tonight and it was good. Used Nathan’s hot dogs and 2 15 ounce cans of chili because with one can the chili seemed a little sparse. I was a little sketchy on Hormel's but it was great. When I make it again, I will probably grill the hot dogs before cutting them up. I feel like that would add a nice layer of flavor.

Never do that!! Because micro pieces of plastic unseen to the eye will be mix in with your food. It's best to remove the hot dogs from the package and rinse them off and then chop. I wouldn't eat her food for nothing in the World 🌎!!

Am I right to guess you’re somewhere in the south? I lived in Georgia and my family kept Varsity Driveins in business. My dad’s favorite had a menu name that is taboo on YT. It was basically a chili, cheese and slaw dog. He didn’t add ketchup or mustard.

I make something similar to this. I use sausage, stuffed hotdogs, peppers, onions, garlic powder, black pepper,salt, chili, chili powder, cheese ( pepper jack and shredded cheddar), two small potatoes diced up small, hamburger meat ( cooked and drained ), fresh tomatoes diced fine and instead of the pastry dough I use pizza dough and have a top layer as well as bottom to make a big pot pie.

Id just take the hotdogs, add an extra can of chili for more liquid. Heat it up, make some white rice and dump it over the top and melt some shredded cheese and maybe some diced onion as well. Its easier and that meal will always slap

Will try this! Never thought of doing a casserole. When I have chili & hot dogs, I like to mix one can Hormel Chunky No Beans and a separate can of kidney beans. I also add a small squirt of mustard and a splash of heavy cream. I fry the hot dog pieces first then add to chili. For cheese, I like Asiago. Mix it all together. But next time I’ll casserole it!

I prefer Wolf Brand chili over Hormel tamales. I cover that with shredded cheddar cheese, picante sauce, and sliced jalapeños. I nuke this for 3 minutes in the microwave, and I'm good to go.
