Thank You Shelly, I have been working on those exercises on your video for rotations & height. I am getting a lot better. It does help immensely. What a great timing for the Axel. You are the best teacher!! Your explanations are so clear. 😍 I am learning a lot from you. I really appreciated. Thanks again!!! 🙏 Lise ⛸ 🎼 🦋

Shelly, what is the best position for the left leg during the flight for the counter-clockwise jumper? Turned in or out? I noticed that when I do Axel, I tend to turn my left knee out, very much (and I lack 0.25-0.5 rotation, lol). I heard a lot of people say that the left leg should be facing towards right, internal hip rotation or something like that, but when I look at the elite skaters, sometimes their left knees are turned out. So what is the proper techinque? Or it is just that when doing triples and quads the forces are too big so they can't keep the knee perfectly turned in?

You might notice the left knee going left due to the edge of the take off of the jump. I always think of my knee pointing in the direction I am going to be jumping. So will there be a slight turn out to the left side, yes! That is all due to the edge. I wouldn’t say though to turn it out too much because then your upper body and lower body will not be together for the jump. Try focusing on keeping the knee pointing straighter in front and getting your lift vs rotation. If you at Turing out a lot, that could be a sign of you trying to rotate before you jump.
