Jennifer, you are SO RIGHT about the 110# classic crest card stock! I bought it based on your recommendation because I have never really liked the flimsy way my cards feel with other card stocks. Now I am pretty much always reaching for this card stock - my finished product is just so much nicer! Thank you so much for making these excellent informative videos.They really do help a lot!

Thank you Jennifer for all your helpful info! I know that quality solids are the foundation of any papercrafter's stash. But for some patterned paper fun, try the HOT BUY paper 12x12 stack pads from Michael's Recollections (no, I'm not associated with Michael's....I just like their patterned paper a lot.) On Black Friday, they had these pads for $5.00 each! I bought 4 pads of holiday/winter theme collections. Honestly, the design team that produced the holiday/winter collections this year (2018) knocked it out of the park (and I'm not easily impressed.) BF is over now, but you can often get each stack for $10 when on sale. The quality of the paper, color/pattern coordination and the beauty and sophistication of the designs are really impressive. Each stack is usually 48 pages of heavyweight, gorgeously designed patterns (usually 4 of each pattern.) There are some pad designs where the paper is thinner, so it is best to feel the paper before you buy it. This paper can work great as a front foundation on cheaper pre-creased blank cards and it makes stunning die cuts.😀

Hi Jennifer! Thank you for sharing your favourite papers and adhesives. I thank these Christmas holidays so I can overdose on your videos and can take your classes too!! :-) I was just wondering if adhesives refills are recyclable. I mean, being a crafter means using a lot of adhesive, do you know any brands whose refills can be easily recyclable or the paper we remove from double sided adhesive tape? If not, why not to ask someway the craft companies to produce materials which can be recyclable? I wish you a wonderful 2018, with a lot of crafty projects and full of joy. XoXo :-)

I appreciate all the time and effort you put into this video and I do value all the information you share in all of your videos. While our hobby is quite an expensive one, I like alternative options to keep my expenses down and still make beautiful cards to share with my family and friends. And, while I don't, I can't tell you how many times, people have told me to sell my cards. I've been looking at the card stock that Hallmark cards and American Greetings use and I would place it very close to the Index card range. Yet, one could pay quite a bit for one card. I use the GP card stock from Walmart. And it is a lot less expensive. By the time you've layered and matted, which you would do the same with a heavier base card, you have quite a substantial card and don't really need a heavier card stock. I don't seem to have a problem using Memento Inks with this card stock. I've also used Bianyo alcohol inks and Bic Alcohol inks on it, and was very happy with the results. My point in all of this, is that while it's great to receive a lot of free items to craft with or to be able to purchase all the latest and greatest tools, most of us don't, yet there are still alternatives for lesser expensive products that can still produce beautiful results. Thank you again for sharing.

I think all your adhesives choices are great. I have recently incorporated the fun foam into my card making and I love it. I find however that I make a ton of card envelopes to match my cards. What adhesive do you use and like best for adhering something to glitter paper. I agree with you and all your suggestions and like what you do in this video, but glitter seems to be a problem when you want to place something else on top of it. I really appreciate and love these videos :)
@suzannebeyer53697 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Goodwin I had to comment because I run into this problem frequently . I make cake and cupcake toppers, some with glittered paper layers. I have found that a small very thin swipe of hot glue works perfectly. But you might need some practice with getting the thinness correct, otherwise it will leave bumps.

Only because you sometimes have said you weren’t sure how to pronounce something, I’ll just mention that the Kokuyo adhesive isn’t pronounced “Ko yo ku”, but is actually “ko ku (as in koo) yo”. :). You are, however, one of the few I’ve heard pronounce ‘Gansai Tambi’ correctly! Japanese is actually quite easy to pronounce as long as you know the sound the vowel makes. Ahhh ehhhh eeeeeee oh uuu (ahh ape sea owe you). For the most part, each letter is pronounced, and if there are two vowels together, each is pronounced... ga n sa eee tam bee. So many people watch your videos, I’m sure there are more people who now pronounce gansai more accurately now! Haha, this gets me thinking about how many people incorrectly say, ‘multi Mat medium’ instead of ‘multi medium mat’ (even other well known card makers), and ‘Modge Podge’ instead of ‘MOD Podge’... drives me nuts! Anyway,, thank you for your recommendations! I refer back to your ‘Favorite Crafty Things’ all year long!

Jennifer McGuire Ink ... oh, I hope my post was okay...
