actually from a relationship standpoint, even though they're not meant to be taken seriously, Craig's approach is... actually very good. he doesn't assume what tweek's goals or wants are, he asks what he wants to do rather than thinking for him. he reminds him to focus on what he CAN do rather than what he CANT, he reminds him to focus on what's in his control rather than what isn't. he allows him the space to grow and make his own decisions. that's genuinely a sign of a healthy relationship and I cannot believe I'm saying this about two fictional elementary school kids 😭😭

I know it seems like Craig is being sarcastic but I think you should understand it in a different way. Tweak is full of fear and he's yelling defensively. By Craig showing him that same sense of hopelessness Tweak begins to turn it around and so he's not trying to help himself. He's actually answering Craig's questions to help Craig. Not himself if that makes sense. He's able to focus on someone or something while working through his feelings which is actually a common Therapy Tactic.

Despite the fact that both are background characters, I don't doubt why they earned the love of the fans. Their relationship is very interesting even with the little we've seen of both. Tweek and Craig have shown more maturity when facing their problems. Isn't a perfect relationship or that they are cloying boyfriends, they simply show how much they care for and love each other without falling into stereotypes, to the point that this benefited both of them in their character development. Because even with what we know, Craig is the only one who can calm Tweek's neurosis. And Tweek was able to make Craig more empathetic and caring to the point that Craig acts as a calming force, and this is seen in the game of The fractured but whole. Even if in Post COVID we saw little of them, it is noticeable that the relationship changed them a lot, Tweek is much more focused and he even knows how to draw his conclusions, while Craig has a better mood, he's more expressive and kind, which we may not have expected from his child self. I would like to see a lot more of them, I miss them so much 🥲
