@@e.z.3427 I don't want to know. As any kind of celebrity, you're an object of fixation. Ask Bjork how that feels, especially in light of what happened with her stalker. Not just that, but many things that a celebrity says can be taken out of context or used to support or denounce beliefs, whether that was their original intent or not. Also, there's a scary place in the world and it's called The Top Of The Mountain. If you're at The Top, you don't have anything left to climb and you are only left to look back at where you had been before you reached The Top. With no struggle and potentially nothing left to drive ambition, a person can encounter too much free time and too much money and all of the problems that come with both of these things. I'd take being a regular guy making decent money over being David Bowie married to Iman any day of the week. I'm a fan of Bowie, but I would never want his life in a million years.

@Isaiah _ He'd made it a habit to lie often since 1970 to create mystique and a rock star persona. He was unhappy with his early work not doing well, and a lot of things he'd said in major interviews were exaggerated to cause confusion and maximize his appeal, leading up to his coke addiction and alcoholism, where he'd started to have an identity crisis while keeping up with all of it. Song meanings, philosophies, questions about his personal life. He was very evasive. When he'd gotten sober, then massive in the '80s, he was even less open about those things. He'd put on a show of some kind. We'd gotten some of who he was, but only enough that it wasn't obvious he didn't want us to know. After Tin Machine and marrying Iman, he wanted to be more himself. Being a star wasn't so appealing to him anymore, and he wanted to be David Jones. He started addressing himself that way a lot more, especially in the 2000s.

Hell, I still have my tour shirt from when I saw him live in 2004 for my 14th birthday, and so glad I lost the weight to wear it again. But I love the pics from just before the Ziggy Stardust persona, Ziggy Stardust, and up to the Thin White Duke. I loved his androgyny the most - that’s why I was so excited after close to 15 years of searching I found a vinyl of “The Man Who Sold World” album with him wearing the dress. That might be close to my favorite picture of him. But I’ve used photos as references of him for some art classes, that actually came out pretty good, and on my Instagram. Back in the early to mid 2000s I printed off tons of pics of him to practice drawing realistically, and I need to start that again...

@@angelitaflores7064 He was hilarious! He made fun of himself, pretended to flirt with members of the audience, and he actually sang songs like “Rebel Rebel”, with the encore being “Ziggy Stardust”. I actually have an original “Ziggy Stardust” album that belonged to my uncle and it still has the lyric sleeve (I pretty much have everything he did vinyl - including 45s of ‘Heroes’ in German and French - I prefer the song in German, but that’s because my family are of German Jewish stock and I always found the language beautiful). I even have a comic book where they threw Ziggy into a weird story, but it’s still cool. And somehow years ago my mom found an original (we’re pretty sure) movie display poster for “Labyrinth”. Plus I have some special guitar picks with various pics of him on them, and probably 3 or so magazines on him. I did find some Tin Machine posters - our local record shop had some and they just gave them to me for free. I’ve been lucky enough that store has had posters and other nifty stuff inside the album - like my copy of “Tonight” has a poster in it. I have Jareth Funkos, but I wish they’d make a Bowie one - they’ve done Freddie Mercury recently, so who knows, maybe we’ll get one of him.

I have NEVER seen a David Bowie video clip that made me like him less. He just comes across as such a genuine, sweet and decent human being, ALWAYS. If only we could all live up to the example he set.

Bowie dedicated the last part of his life to raising his youngest kid in NYC. He used to hide from people in plain site by reading a Polish newspaper on the trains, so "people would think I was just some Polish guy who happened to look like David Bowie."
