My Favorite Dishes for Chinese New Year

I experienced my first Chinese New Year celebration in Hawaii. My father was in the US Navy and was stationed there. I was 1 1/2 years old and slept through the celebrating and fireworks. That was a small miracle, because I did not sleep well as a baby.. I think there must have been a harmonious feeling with the people greeting the new year that made me feel safe. I was born in the year of the horse many, many years ago.
