Fishing i rivers is so fun. Reading the water, looking for eddy’s and current breaks is as much fun as catching the fish. Boley, you are an awsome fisherman but a better storyteller. Keep it up!

Thanks Tom so much for your app and info, I just got back into fishing last year after being away for years, I live right on pool 9. I'm excited to apply this stuff and learn how to catch these eyes.

Hi Guys, Love the content. I have been watching for sometime. My parents retired on the Mississippi River. It is literally right out there front door. I have been fishing exclusively for Walleye for the past 4 years. Initially had terrible success but as of last year I have been killing it. I have been fishing the river for 4 weeks now and have caught a ton. Been a couple of days I have had over 100 lbs a day with most fish 22 and above with many 28 and over and one day caught 3 over 30 crazy. About a week ago I caught a 18 and cleaned it up, I check the stomach and it was filled with 4 1/2 inch black and silver shad. What's funny is that I am using the exact same color crankbait you are using in the vid. It was catching fish 8 to 1 over any other color. I figured it had to be attributed to the action and speed of the troll. Tried 4 other colors in the same bait nothing. All on that crawdad color. How those fish see that color in a stained environment has something to do with it. Started out early this year pulling Bomber 4A and 4f at .8 into the current and killed them. Watched your vid sometime back and you mentioned speeding up as the water warms up. Followed your advice and am consistently staying in the groove. Now I am at 1.8 to 2.1 and still hitting them. The Il DNR put the slot limit in some 5 years ago and it has worked. I catch more fish 22 and above than in the slot. It might be time to revisit the program. I believe after the last couple years the large fish are feeding on the teenagers. I have spoken to the DNR and they are saying that they are taking a look at the programs success now. Well I can say that it worked. Anyway. Good Luck. I would love to head up to Sioux Falls but no can do.

I would love to see you come to the Ohio river system. Its just like the Mississippi right now. Its always a great fishery. I always get confused on how to troll down current and up current. If you can help me With some advice on how fast to go I would appreciate it. Current is almost always 1 mph or less going down stream when the water is low. I appreciate it if you answer Thanks Tom for all you do!

Thanks for calling the length of fish that you catch, puts the fish in a better perspective when we watch your program. Just would like to ask one more thing,,, when you catch a fish over 26-27", could you please check the length with a tape measure, it would be nice to see the length on a measuring tape so we get the real size of them. I think this would help us appreciate the size of the fish better. I know that you know the sizes as you have caught hundreds and know off by heart the sizes that you have caught, but it will help us,( me, ) lol, get the feeling better thanks again.

Reason why most people don’t catch walleyes is because they don’t season their bait with MSG to give the plastic more flavor
