Ok, I am 52. I wish there were more tutorials for women my age! I am tired of seeing 20 somethings tutorials for non-wrinkled skin. Thank you for tryung to teach me something new. I have ALWAYS taken great care of my skin but never learned how to do my makeup. Thank you.

I follow a lot of younger KZbin influencers, and I've noticed my makeup just not looking as good on me as it used to. I'm 36, and I've very recently acquired a lot of texture and pigmentation on my face. I finally had to realize that the foundations I used to love just won't work for me anymore. So, to my surprise, there's an entire genre of aging skin you tubers that I just discovered. I'm so happy about this, and it makes me feel better about myself knowing other women are having the same issue. Thank you so much for these videos. Also, fellow Austinite! That made my day

Oh Lisa dear! I really do appreciate this video for women with mature skin, but you're 34 with gorgeous skin!!! I'm 58 in three days, and while I do take care of my skin, stay out of the sun, use spf, etc., like you said, the aging process can't be avoided. As I age I find less is more. Just enough to bring out the natural beauty is enough. You are so pretty, thank you for sharing some good reminders to keep it real.

I adore that Tarte oil. I got a sample of it and it's become they one thing I use every single day. I no longer have dry patches, and I never break out from it. It absorbs fast enough and it doesn't leave my son feeling like anything other than my skin once it's been absorbed

I had a giggle at a 34-year-old talking about the best options for aging and mature skin given that I am 65. It’d be great to see those foundations applied onto the skin of a woman with real wrinkles and age spots and see how they look/wear. That said, the points are valid, and I completely agree about the IT Cosmetics CC cream. I often try new options but always go back to that one. Thanks for the tips.

Great video, I've recently come to the realisation that I need to step away from the matte and full Coverage foundations as they were doing me no favours. Same goes for baking. For me it was Highlighting my crows feet and drying out my undereyes. I've also learned to be a bit more concise with my highlighter application!

I'm 52 and I just love love love Laura Geller Baked Balance and Brighten. It's different than most other powder foundations. I also pair it with the baked bronzer and baked blush and brighten. After I'm done and give it all a good spritz with setting spray, it's just like magic the way it melts into the skin and becomes one with it. It's the most natural looking.. look I've been able to find for me at my age.

I loved this video ❤️ Although I’m 23 I decided to watch your video to see what you had to say about textured skin. I have a lot of pitted acne and every time I attempt to purchase foundation they try to shove SUPER heavy, matte product.
@lisajmakeup6 жыл бұрын
Thank you Paige! Have you found one you like? that's the tricky thing about textured skin... full coverage conceals discoloration but it usually makes any texture on the skin more obvious. I think people have a misconception that full coverage will hide texture but it only hides discoloration.

Although I love the convenience of a BB or CC cream, makeup alone will not protect you from sun damage, it does not contain the necessary SPF to protect the skin as per the number on the bottle. In order to get the protection labeled on the bottle, you need to apply enough sunscreen. For the face, this means applying about a quarter size (or 1 teaspoon of sunscreen). If you apply less than 1 teaspoon, the SPF value gets diluted out so instead of SPF 50, you get SPF 25 or 30. Great video!

This was great! I am in my 70’s and still love doing makeup even though some of my friends have given it up or never used it because the “natural look” was better. LOL I do love the It CC makeup but I do still apply a sunscreen first. I always apply sunscreen to my neck but just blend the CC down my jaw to my neck so I don’t have makeup all over my clothes. I always use a setting spray and the one I use in the winter has an oil in it which is great. I don’t like the oil in the summer as it adds to much. Thanks 😍

My channel is for those over the age of 50, but addresses living that season with intentional action (not mainly beauty). My dermatologist speaks of "earned" skin as well, and makes the point that NOTHING looks better on us than "wearing" our skin in its natural (not sun damaged) skin. Having had skin cancer, I couldn't agree more. I keep hearing good things about the Infallible foundation. Just purchased (and really like) the Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation, and really like it on my 52 year old skin (maybe not as much as I like the IT Cosmetics BB, though). Giving this a THUMBS UP. Peace! ~Toni 💋

IT makes a great eyeshadow palettee anti aging no tugging and healthier ..I have been leaning in the summer toward the Too Faced "Born This Way Foundation" in Warm Nude..it tends to sweat less, be enough coverage but natural looking and you can barely feel it..OMG and has anyone tried that BECCA backlit primer! I have fell in love with that stuff...I think what we like and all our techniques will be different depending on our God given genes, how we cared for our skin, like with me I've been through a lot of cancer treatment for 7 years - hard to do make -up anymore..I am 45 Aug 21, 17...no matter what we like and tips and tricks it is great we are here to share them!

The routine that works best for me is after washing my face (gently with a clean wash cloth for daily exfoliation) is putting on my serum and oils, giving those about 5 minutes to absorb, then going in with my moisturizer and eye cream, for a final barrier. Then, and here the most important part, is leaving my skin alone for at least 15 minutes and then going in with a primer, makes my foundation sit on my skin beautifully!! No matter what foundation, it sits the best if I let all of my skin care and moisturizing products absorb first. I’ve tried the Argan oil with my foundation but no matter what foundation I use the oil with it eventually causes the foundation to break up and cake. Has not worked for me ever. So getting my skin care right before I go in with primer & makeup is the best formulation for me. I can even use the new Maybelline Superstay using my routine, in a thin layer of course, it sits beautifully on my 44 year old skin!

Such a great and helpful video! I'm 44 and have been using tinted moisturizers (currently using Cargo). I'm wanting to try out some medium to full coverage foundations. I'm heading straight to the Face Atelier website! it looks like your bottle had a PETA symbol on it, and I only buy cruelty free. So excited to check out this brand based on your recommendation!!!

You look so young. I am 48 and I use IT C CC with their powder. I have huge pores and they help enormously. But they transfer on phone, clothes, and. tiny kids hands and cheeks rub it off. I need to try the Armani. Really interested in how it would wear. I apply my foundation with the tip of my fingers. I use the By Terry primer and that is the only one that makes my foundation sit well. I have tried so many! Excellent video thank you.
@lisajmakeup7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Agnes! I am really interested in the By Terry products... have you tried any other products?
@Agi19697 жыл бұрын
Yes loads. For primer I have tried the Estee Lauder, Benefit, UD spray, IT Cosmetics serum (did not like it because of the Vit-C opens up my pores instead of concealing them). The By Terry softens the skin and it is very light. It also has a sheer layer that doesn't roll off like the Benefit or any other silicone product but smooths the skin. I love the First Aid Cosmetics cream for oily skin as well. It helps to plump the skin without any residue so it preps the skin and doesn't interact with the foundation. At the moment I am testing the Tarte Shape Tape concealer and so far so good. I am surprised by it because the consistency is similar to the IT Cosmetics that tends to sit in the crease unless I powered the heck out of it. I also like the Benefit Stay Don't Stray concealer. I use it either under the IT C concealer or on its own if I am not too tired. I have awful, and I mean awful, racoon eyes.

IT's CC Creams will transfer while the foundation will not.

Hi Lisa, i do own a couple of foundations. Wanted to know how will i know what foundations to mix. Some of the foundations i choose is sometimes to light or to dark. I have no signs of aging yet and i just turned 44 and people think I’m 29 years old. I just started wearing make up so i still have lots to learn. Thanks Lisa for your wonderful videos. I enjoy your through explanations. Have a awesome day.

One of my top favorite drugstore foundations is the Infallible matte. Idk why it didn't occur to me to try the Dewey version now that I'm wanting to go that route? Used the IT CC cream years ago. Do remember liking it.

Lisa GREAT VIDEO....aging is imo a priviledge (sp)not given to everyone which is sad..my mother who passed away at the young age of 62 had skin of a 30 year old...barely any wrinkiles and smooth as a babies bottom.....(and yet I have dry, sensitive skin with rosacea...go figure) was surprised I did not see the wet n wild foundation....that is a good one and one thing I have learned the hard way is that I MUST apply any foundation with a beauty blender...a brush smears it and tends to bring up my dry patches like nobodys business......will wait for the Sephora 20% and try the GA foundation.....btw mac and cover fv will be at ulta I believe in may....woot woot.....cant wait...

I've been wearing Born This Way the last few weeks and like it. It does settle some in the pores, but I get complements when I use it. I use Laura Mercier brightening under my eyes and her reg powder for my face. I also like the Ben Nye cameo powder. The Pro-Glow and IT shows all of my redness on my chin and wears off easily. Maybe I need a different powder with those. Thank you for your recommendations. I will try some of those.
@lisajmakeup7 жыл бұрын
+Scilla H I haven't tried the born this way yet, but I think I need to try that Ben Nye powder! How did you hear about it?
@scillah44537 жыл бұрын
Lisa J, my daughter told me about it. I order it through Amazon. I prefer the cameo luxury powder. She has the pink and yellow powders. It is finely milled. I use it as a setting powder for my face. If I feel the need for a finishing powder, I will grab the Laura Mercier translucent.

Hi Lisa just found you looking for recommendation for dry skin make up, ok I'm 73 retired usually follow older You Tubers but when you said you worked with " grandmas" clicked...basically using IT CC , L'Oréal you showed and just got Physicians Cushion Mineral, I'm not looking to be 30 looking just a fresh look, primer, tried adding oils, nothing seems to look like I'm not wearing make up, settles into dry spots. How do you determine if you have pink or yellow undertones....l never know a shade unless it's light/ med ...looking forward to more videos
@lisajmakeup7 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandy! What skincare do you use? Do you use something really rich and hydrating just before you apply your makeup? Have you tried the Giorgio Armani luminous silk? Also, how do you apply your foundation? Do you use a brush or a beauty blender or your fingers? I would recommend a beauty blender (damp) and press the product into your skin so it really blends in and doesn't just sit on top of your skin, later moving around and settling in your dry spots
@sandyj79177 жыл бұрын
Lisa J At 73 I have run The gamut of high to low end products Estee, Clinique, to Olay etal you adjust as you age, I have jojoba, almond, vitamin C, I apply fingers, beauty blender, brushes, I love a smooth look, have not many lines, my problem is color match, gone to make up Bobbi Brown, Sephora, Estee they seem to not get a match that doesn't look as nice as Wayne Goss is face lol....so retired not going the high end for everyday. For now I go BB or CC, tried Elf, Wetand Wild, IT, Benefit, how do you determine whether your a warm or cool tone. My second quest is lipstick, used to wear colors now only a nude lip is my go to. By the way the picture of me is current. Thank you for input, subscribe to a " younger" gal just for a fresh opinion.

@Juleaf87 жыл бұрын
Lisa J I use makeup forever HD foundation. It's a bit more coverage than my everyday wear, but I don't feel like it's too heavy. I also use a beauty blender to apply so it goes on a bit lighter than if I used a brush.
