The rock hard gelee actually came back too. It's now in the CHI men collection! Exactly the same as the biosilk, just different brandname and packaging! I like the Infra gel better though, because it's easier to distribute through my hair

But it already was available in America (I actually contact them to ask if it would also come to the Netherlands). I don't know which American stores have it, but you can buy it at their own website (currently out of stock though). WHY is everything I love always discontinued??? I used to love Curl Memory Spring Up Styler by Artec, and when it was discontinued I literally went on the web and bought 73 bottles. Used every one. I reached out to Biosilk customer service to ask about this and received a reply that it the rock hard gelee is still being manufactured and there are no plans to discontinue it. So good news for those of us who love it! Or Courtney is it a certain formulation of the Rock Hard Gelee that they are discontinuing?? Not sure where the discontinued info came from originally; I couldn't find anything when googling except a post from 2007.

Interesting, it's been a month since this was posted, I just looked at the Biosilk website for something unrelated and I noticed a product labeled Rock Hard Gelee, but the bottle looks totally different, so maybe they were just repackaging it?

Sally Beauty has a gel Beyond The Zone (BTZ) Bada Bing Gel. It creates a really intense cast and it is glycerin free and contains protein too. Hope you find this helpful!

I really enjoy using homemade flaxseed gel with honey to seal my curls. It is a medium hold for sure, but noticeably less frizzy, large bouncy soft curls. Many of the techniques I use are because of you! Thank you!

My hair is very similar to yours, according to my hair analysis, Low porosity and a mix of find in medium coarse strands. I was also upset when I heard the Biosilk rock hard is being discontinued. 😟

I just started doing this on some days. I make sure to use a scarf or bonnet for protection otherwise it ends up super wonky. Still slightly wonkier than freshly washed hair but a very minimal spot refresh gets me all set to go!

I do this almost every time I wash because I mostly air dry & need my hair to complete drying overnight in its pineapple. In the morning, I scrunch.

I sleep in the cast almost every time I wash, especially if I wash on a Sunday. That way I only need to scrunch and fluff before work on Monday morning. Why don't you try it when you know you're not going anywhere next day? If it turns out misshapen, you just refresh and style again!

So I went on a Canadian salon website (Chatters)to see if they sell the Chi gel and the ingredients list is different than what is on your screen. 😭 it has an itchy M ingredient which makes me so nervous, because the catwalk tigi stuff has an itchy M and leaves my head soooo itchy. I’ve been just falling in love with the biosilk gelee, I’m still on my first bottle that I bought a few months ago and it’s given me the only really good results I’ve had in these last few months. Sigh.

Personally, the Biosilk gives me much more hold than the Giovanni gel. I get consistently good results most of the time, unlike with the LA Hold Giovanni gel. But then again, my hair does not like aloe because aloe can behave like glycerin in certain weather conditions. So that may be why I don't always get ideal results with the Giovanni gel. I have 2b waves. I hope this helps!

IMO the Dippity Doo gel isn’t totally comparable bc it’s a light-medium hold. I wish my hair was cooperative enough to work with a gel like Dippity Doo but I have to use a strong 💪 hold for my problematic hair 🙄

They're different things! Silica is a small molecule commonly found in crystals, and is the main component of sand and the primary ingredient in most glass. Silicones are polymers of siloxanes.

I personally needed a silicone based sealing oil on my hair. I use Verb Ghost Oil to SOTC. Otherwise my high porosity damaged fine hair looses too much moisture and my style doesn’t last! It also prevents frizz

After wearing silicone in my hair for a week I can now say I am over the silicones. The feeling went from so soft and frizz free to Eww. My hair didn't feel like hair anymore, it started to be weighed down and looked a bit lifeless. To clarify I have medium to course 3b hair. I clarified my hair applied a deep conditioner and lesson learned 🤦🏽‍♀️.
