Starts off like In the Ghetto by Elvis. Which came first?
@carlbaumeister3439
@carlbaumeister3439 3 жыл бұрын
@@mechanicam5867 I don’t know for sure. The rooftop concert was in Jan of ‘69, which means possibly written in ‘68? And not released publicly until spring of ‘70. Elvis’ song, written by Mac Davis, was released in April, 1969. It’s unlikely Davis was in London during the rooftop concert, so he probably didn’t unconsciously “lift” the riff for his own song. I’d guess just coincidental that both songs have a similar beginning.

@@carlbaumeister3439 Yes let it be was recorded in 1968 because I think Abbey Road came out in 1969 and it was recorded after the Let it be album
@carlbaumeister3439
@carlbaumeister3439 3 жыл бұрын
@@thebookofeli849 I think they recorded most of “Let it Be” in very early ‘69, and the shelved it while waiting for the film to be made ready. Also, since Lennon didn’t like McCartney’s idea for a raw, minimally-overdubbed and edited album, he called Phil Spector in to work on it, which also took time. In the meantime, they recorded and released Abbey Road (fall of ‘69). Let it Be was finally ready (along with film) in spring of 1970.

Great video Marty! My name is Nathan, I’m 17 and I’ve been playing guitar since September of 2019. You have been my teacher for the past year and a half and I can’t thank you enough. Nice to see the Beatles in here! They’re actually my favorite band of all time, and thanks to you I can play they’re songs on guitar now😊 Thank you Marty for everything!

The Revolution patch sounded remarkably close to the original actually. The sound was apparently created by driving mic preamps to distortion. It was said that they got some returns of the record, saying it was faulty because of the huge distortion on the guitars. They were told "No - it's meant to sound like that!". 😀
