I have collected knives as long as I have played in the woods. Over 40 years of it. I have had a lot of cheap and a lot of expensive knives. This is my favorite

It's fantastic! I would love to see a reboot, now that schrade has changed their structure. It would be great to see a more comfortable handle to go with the 1095, along with a high grade stainless version. Thanks for watching!

My favorite is the SCHF52. Schrade really missed out by stopping making that one. It is the absolute best outdoors knife for me.

I also like the 52, though I wish they would've offered a 1095 option. Thanks for watching!

@@lheastridgeI thought the 52 was 1095... That said the blade stock is a little thinner than the 36/37

I've had mine for like 3 years. I wanted a heavy duty knife and this is one I ordered. I use it for everything from cutting frozen pizzas to opening boxes. It's become my everyday household knife. I still use the sharpener and it works. I'm going to order the smaller version of this Schrade for my tackle box.

I'm not a knife guy by the way but I did a little research before I bought my knife and I basically looked for a 1095 steel, super thick, full tang.. Those were the main check marks I picked up on my research and this Schrade 36 wasn't the cheapest, but it was cheap but a solid name brand.. I couldn't justify spending a lot of money for something that's basically the same, but maybe fancier.. And the fancyness is a matter of opinion.. After 3 years, I still think my Schrade looks and feels badass.. If you don't have one and order one, wait until you see and feel the handle.. I'll take this handle over wood or whatever anyday.. Perfect grip.. Super solid..

What is the smaller version?

I reached out to schrade when they came out with the SCHF 36M, 37M and 38M(their frontier line with micarta handle scales) about getting a pair of the new micarta scales for my SCHF38. They asked for my address and about a week later, micarta handle scales showed up to my door with a new set of mounting hardware. Didn't charge me a cent. Nowadays contacting schrade is a no-go for a reply...

No response is all too common, these days. Ontario seems to have paid the price for terrible CS; hopefully others will learn from their mistakes

Found mine on a dirt trail, must have bounced out of someone's weak factory sheath. Looks like it could stop a bullet, dig a hole, or prybar a door open as well. Rambo level survival knife.

GREAT knife !!! But I'd keep it by my side and buy a 22 or 24 inch heavy blade MACHETE instead . I'd baby the knife and beat the hay out of the machete . 🤣 Tramontina or a Super Toro machete would nicely and they make awesome weapons in a pinch , just saying . GREAT video ol' buddy ! 👍👍

hey man ! good video ! i am tossing up between this and the Gerber StrongArm
@lheastridge Жыл бұрын
I also have the strongarm. It's a great knife, but I prefer 1095. Depending on what your knife needs are, it's a great option. The Schrade is much better at wood processing, but the Gerber is a better slicer. Both are excellent, but you can buy nearly 3 Schrade knives, for the price of the strongarm. Thank you, and thanks for watching!

Where did you get the sheath? I need one for my schf 51

I actually repurposed a sheath from another knife that didn't make the cut. It was kydex, so I used a heat gun to reform it. Thanks for watching!
