Great honest review of the pack. The sternum straps and the hip belt redistribute your load more evenly to the hips and throughout your torso rather than pulling down your shoulders - useful if people like to pack out their backpack. The bag in default mode is actually 35L bag, expanded it becomes 45L and then compressed it becomes 30L. The default mode is the carry on limit of most international airlines and compressed if it not fully packed out it may (if not scrutinized) pass on your back as a personal carry if you are not carrying anything else. What is great for this pack if you mostly pack clothes are packing cubes - as stated by another comment the loops in the main compartment are for Peak Designs Camera Cube system

Thank you. I always use packing cubes and this bag seems to hold them perfectly.

I always have a work address on the luggage tag. That way, nobody will know where I live and then decide to “visit” while I’m away. And if the luggage gets temporarily lost, it can just be returned to the office… where it’s received by colleagues and stored safely, until I return.

I have AirTags tucked into my luggage so it’s not easy to find. The same thing goes for any other bags with valuables that I take while traveling. This way if the airline loses my luggage, or someone tries to steal it, I have a decent chance of finding it. I suggest getting a dark colored silicon cover for the AirTag so it isn’t easily seen.

A wonderful review! I love how you describe the features and make them practical. Like, how will you actually use this bag out on travels. And what features are fun but less practical. If I made reviews, that's the way I would go. Looking forward to your travels with this bag!

Thank you. I’m glad it was helpful. It has held up really well, even when I bought too many souvenirs on trips and had to expand the bag and use it as checked luggage on my way home. Most times checked luggage looks so beat up on the conveyor belt, but this bag comes out looking brand new.

Thanks for this review. This is one of three bags I've been considering for travel. Is it comfortable for long periods of time? I've heard it's not. But you're of similar stature and build to me, so that may make a difference.
@NervousNessie
@NervousNessie 2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. It’s actually very comfy, even when packed so full that you can’t get a Skittle in it. My tip: get it as tight to you as possible. I know it sounds counterintuitive, but if you let it hang off of you, it will pull your back backwards from the weight. Adjust the straps so it sits high and tight, and you can wear it for long periods of time. When I packed it super full, it weighed a little less than 20 pounds.
@NervousNessie
@NervousNessie 2 жыл бұрын
Also, the padding makes it so that it doesn’t dig into your shoulders. Use the waist and sternum straps for added tightness.

Hey Nessie, thank you for this video! I was searching so hard because I need it to see this backpack on a woman body to see if is really big. It looks good on you! Could you maybe tell me how tall you are? I really like this backpack but I'm afraid it could be extremely big for me (174cm tall) and super thin hehe. Thanks!
@NervousNessie
@NervousNessie 2 жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. Thank you for watching. I’m 5’4” and I have a medium build. While I’m not super thin like you, I do have a very small waist compared to my build. The adjustable strap for the waist makes it small enough to fit without having any overlapping parts making it uncomfortable. Also, by being able to adjust the width of the straps across the sternum, it makes it adjustable to fit someone thin like yourself, someone with broad shoulders like myself, or someone that is well endowed in the chest area. I hope this helps.

Thanks for your review! I’m on the fence between this and the AER but I really love the look and the more spacious main compartment. My only concern is the lack of load lifters on the strap. How has the comfort been without the load lifters and do you have any tips for adjusting the straps so it sits comfortably?
@NervousNessie
@NervousNessie Жыл бұрын
You’re welcome. I would say to adjust the shoulder straps so that the bag sits as high as possible on your back. If it sits low, the weight will start to pull your upper back. I know it seems counterintuitive, but trust me, you want it as tight to your body and as high as possible. Adjust the shoulder straps first, then the sternum strap, and finally the waist. You might have to tweak each one a little as you make the next adjustment.

Not sure. I was there for a week last year. If flights go down in cost, I’ll probably go back in the fall. That area is beautiful in autumn. The foothills of the Appalachian Mountains with all the foliage. One of my favorite places.

Thank you. I did have a flight where the plane was very small to the point they were checking almost all carry on luggage because it wouldn’t fit in the overhead bin. At first they told me I would have to check it. Then when it came time to check it on the tarmac before getting on the plane, the loading crew told me to try and see if it would fit. It was a snug fit, but it did work. I didn’t have to check it.
