They couldn't turn the first place down because it would just be disrespectful. And in turn them being left out of competition would make people feel bad and cused many protest. Most of the time countries that win Eurovision win it because of political reasons instead of winning because of the song. Israel most recent winning would probably not happen if not for political reasons and the same would go for many other winners. Should they give up their first place too? Sure, it was not so obvious but what the difference. Eurovison should unite and was made to do so and probably for the first time they trully united people. It is a stand that people took to show their support for Ukraine. They made the choice to do it and it is just competition, every singer had a chance to sing on that huge stage with millons of people watching and compared to that winning Eurovision is actually not that big of a thing. People would forget who won in no time eather way so it is stupid to get angry because of such a thing. And Ukrainian song is pretty good. It was in Ukrainian, had a touch of traditional Ukrainian music and also was pretty catchy. Lyrics was good to so overall it was not bad choice for winner.

So other singers just didn't have to put so much money in their songs. They put so much money and effort into songs because they have a chance of showing themselves to the big part of the world. It was not "pity" voting it was empathy voting. There is a difference. 4. Saying it is disgusting just makes you look too invested in this competition. It is not real competition. If people didn't want Ukraine to win so easly they could easly take them out from competition, they didn't. They knew what will be the consequence of this. Ukrainian song was one of them and many people liked it for what it was. 7 For the fake votes you are free to blame the people behind the whole Eurovision. Noone was robbed, people voted that's it. If you didn't enjoy watching it that does not mean others didn't enjoy it too.
