Can confirm nostalgia peaks at 13 - 15. We've built a whole brand on retro gaming, and many of our audience long for the days they were young teenagers. We also made a coffee table book too that has sold 10,000's of units like Jonathan mentioned!

During the height of the plandemic, I was so sick of it all!!! I thought ‘Jeez, alcohol is legal, weed is kinda sorta legal, but being normal and hanging out with normal people is not, well fuck that!’ I need my own new age speak easy- I actually bought a domain to turn into my own members only speak easy…this could be a huge and scalable business, but I need a ‘Mr. Roark’ because I am an introvert. I would just start with a bar, and a pub table - maybe a jukebox, first members would be free, the there would be a membership fee, and you could only join with a invite from a member. I have small Rottweiler kennel, they would then get to run security, making them Finally, earn their keep 😉 What y’all think? Could turn into a Gen X speak easy where we played Def Lepperd, etc…??

I have been wondering about this too! When I was in Korea there were places called playstation rooms. There were nice big places and you could sit on sofas and play games. They had snack bars and you could rent time with games and sit around and play with friends. I am also in the process of planning a IRL tournament for roblox which could trigger nostalgia on parents and it is creating new memories for the current 10-14.5 yo crowd

The podcast nostalgia is wild, never even thought of that but definitely possible as it can remind you of a period of life as well as by ‘hanging out’ enough with podcast hosts it feels like a friend.

This is the episode I've been both eager and procrastinating to watch, and it made me feel lazy. I turned my Google Maps/wishlist into print posters. 'LA Film Locations,' 'Phillys Rock locations', 'Seattle Grunge,' and 'Manchester Post-Punk.' It's time.

Research how eBay got started and you might see something that could apply to you. Why limit the idea? How about all film/TV/famous locations as a platform prepping for our inevitable augmented reality/virtual reality future? Build now. Then wait for the big boys to come knocking with an acquisition offer. I’ve researched the idea a bit, imagining that the platform could even be built by free user generated content. I believe people would be all too willing to be architects of that AR/VR landscape, attaching their name to all that they have contributed.

@@GregIsenberg it seemed like the first guests of the new format brought a variety of ideas, maybe stuff they had in the hopper, so the ideas seemed thought out, not forced for the sake of brainstorming startup ideas. For some of us, this podcast is more about the thinking behind, or ideation of an idea, rather than something I can start. For me most of those first few podcasts yielded some type of fruit I immediately used with what I'm working on. I won't stop listening. I appreciate what you're doing. Just some feedback.

@@coreyamccoyhmm I get the vibe from the comments a lot of people are looking to make it happen for themselves, rather than listening to a lot of shooting the shit about the stories. Listening to these conversations feels privileged and opens my mind+trains my brain to see things and think about things differently that’s may have been hiding in plain sight all along. But everyone is different

I’m older than you guys but a serial founder in love with two things: startups and nostalgia, in my case for the 80’s and 90’s. The idea of comforting noise, chatter amongst friends, and chillin’ while doing something is exactly right. I’m sure you guys realized this and I’m betting that many felt the same but listening to two friends wax nostalgic about something they both love - just that - was the best content I’ve heard in a long time.
