You need to have different mount escapes for different situations, but here is the one that I end up using most often against good people. Check out the limited edition Grappelarts Black Technical Gi at www.grappleart...

Nice I randomly ended up doing it last sparring session after watching this video. It really does work!

Note to white belts, notice the guy on top is not in a high mount. The guy on top has to be near his hips. Oss.

As a white belt, I've found that lifting the foot aids my elbow escape if I get it done before mount is too established.

But does it work against villains?

Constantly find myself under full mount, this seems like a great way to get lapel choked though? Your hands busy and neck and lapel so very open.

Love your channel Stephan. On this one however, all I’m seeing is opportunities to get punched in the face! I suppose this is a sport Jiu-Jitsu only move?
@channel4jiujitsu2904 жыл бұрын
Justin Colletti hey bro, you should check out what ryan halls has to say about the effectiveness of “sport jiujitsu” in mma. Super cool dude, tons of experience. Definitely one of my fave athletes (alone with Marcelo and Stephan of course)

Ideally this is a quick sequence. If you’re stuck underneath in deep half guard you might eat some punches to the face.
@StephanKesting4 жыл бұрын
Justin Colletti This is mostly sports oriented but I have seen the deep half guard used in MMA on occasion. If that’s all you have, that’s all you have…

The homer simpson referance is probably confusing for those millenials haha, maybe we need a new referance or link it in the description lol
@EtherealWinterWind4 жыл бұрын
I think you mean Gen Z, millennials grew up with the Simpsons. Millienials are 24-40 year olds now. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJWmqmmDfLSJnNk

That works during practice...you'll get your face smashed in in a real fight

So maybe.... he wouldn't do it in a real fight?

I don’t remember him saying it was a sport BJJ only technique either Matthew. Why assume one framework rather than the other?
@VincentMMALife4 жыл бұрын
@@JustinColletti To be honest I rather want to get my face smashed in while I'm escaping a terrible position than getting my face smashed in while being pinned down. Ofcourse you are going to get hit but I rather take a few shots on my way out than just giving up.

There are lots of different mount escapes and each one works at different situations. And there are some mount escapes that are non-self defense that I would do in self defense bc I’m so comfortable with it and it would throw their balance off instantly and u can’t throw a punch while u are basically flying in mid air up and backwards
@VincentMMALife4 жыл бұрын
@@Alienshark Totally right here. Punches make things like a bump and roll escape way more easy, because the person on top of you isn't busy with keeping their balance and etcetera. Sometimes you can even time the punch and bridge right when he throws his punch, you will set your opponent flying like that.
