The poly effects beebo is my favorite effects unit from this year I bought and used this year. I could sit with that thing all day.

I love my SP404 MK2 and OP-1 Field.
@JoshIsMakingMusic Жыл бұрын
The 404 MK2 is so good! And I'm glad to hear folks like the Field. I was down on it when it was first announced, but what's most important is that people enjoy using it to make music.
@bjamminsincebirth3494 Жыл бұрын
@@JoshIsMakingMusic yeah most people are because of the price. I feel like if you use it often then you will get your money’s worth. It seems to me they hold their value well and TE has been frequent with the updates.

Got my Sonicware Smpltrek in November, and had the wee Roland T8 with me on vacation. Lovely!

Nice! The Smpltrek looks super cool, solid competitor for an SP-404.

Don't know much about the M8 (or trackers in general tbh) but that looks cool, really like the track you made on it. The Lore pedal sounded nice too. Happy new Year!

Since the M8 has eight monophonic channels, it's basically a Digitakt... 😉 Happy new year to you as well!

@@JoshIsMakingMusic a digitakt? Sorry, never heard of it 😁

A little late to this one but this year I got a korg volca sample 2 largely due to your video on it. Its been my first piece of digital music making hardware and has been an absolute blast to use! Im grateful for your suggestion and youve gained a subscriber because of it! Keep up the great work and cant wait to see what you create in 2023!

Nice video, Josh! I especially like the track you made on the M8. Wonderful arrangement of sounds and a nice feeling to it. And that CZ-5000 sounds amazing indeed! My favorites continue to be the Roland SH-01A and the Yamaha reface DX. They’re easy to use and they make just the right kind of sounds that I want to make. Happy New Year and best wishes to you and your family!

And forgot to say, to me it’s the Digitakt! I bought it last Xmas as a present to myself and it doubles as an audio interface, which is very useful!

@@newflanged_ I can’t say that I’ve seen single piece of Elektron hardware that doesn’t look worth it. I’m surprised I don’t see more people using the Heat MK2 for processing, it gives things so much body.

The M8 really pinches above its weight class. And Elektron's lineup is so good. I wish I could justify and afford picking up a Syntakt...

Favorite music gear of the year: iPad. I kinda hate Apple so it sucks to say but the sheer versatility and fun held in that has largely replaced my laptop and analog gear. Its so self contained and while Apple may seem to hate music creators, the love put into the software by smaller developers is amazing not to mention you can get a lot of the same vsts for a tiny fraction of what their computer equivalents cost

After that, the sp404mk2, the pocket operator po12 rhythm, and the Casio VL-1 always inspire

I also got a banjolele for xmas. Might not be "gear" but it's amazing to have such an easy to play instrument sound so unique and robust
@JoshIsMakingMusic Жыл бұрын
I've heard good things about iPad music production before... I think it was Andrew Huang who said that Apple really beats out Android for music making. And the banjolele definitely counts as gear! Plus, they're super fun. I used to have one and it inspired me to learn clawhammer.
