I really liked this hike, I would recommend hiking from Mürren (or all the way from Lauterbrunnen) to Griesalp, stay over night and then go to Oeschinensee the day after, perfect 2 day hike and I was surprised how amazing this part was to be honest...!

Nice video. You are right about the water: don't drink directly from streams. Except when your higher than the meadows where cows graze. But it is safer to always carry a water filter.

Hey there! This looks glorious and thanks for making it so detailed for the rest of us. Did this stage have any dangerous bits such as exposed edges, parts requiring ropes/stepping on metal bars, or rocky areas which should not be climbed when slippery? Or is the difficulty mainly the amount of uphill/donwhill you need to do? Thanks!

Nice video . The hike is not technical , but is extremely tough . (Especially if you carry 10kg bag and it’s hot ) . You need to be fit to do this . The climb takes 3-4 hours and not everyone is accustomed to such prolonged physical exercise . In addition is useful if you don’t suffer vertigo in r have been on exposed mountains and ridges before . If you are worried about the exposure you breathe harder making physical effort worse . All in all , as long as you are fit a beautiful and not technical route .

This is great! I did this hike last year, but stayed 3 days in the area. I also went there because of James Bond :))

Thank you! I'm always happy when people share what they think instead of just keeping it for themself, really appreciate it Neo! I want to go back, we unfortunatelly were a bit in a rush when we went there :( did you head over to Oeschinensee too or did you only see the previous areas befor Griesalp, if so is it better or worse? If you went there for James Bond you should go to the Furka Pass too!!!

We want a video from Pilatus in Lucerne 🇨🇭 but you both have to be dressed in Swiss-Guard uniforms. That would be exciting. 😁

That would be great fun, for some reason I've never even been there even though it's one of the most touristy places! I need to do that at some point but unfortunatelly I can't make it this year :( I'm not sure the Swiss-Guard uniform is suitable to hike up a mountain ;)

@@stevlevajkovski860 are you telling me the experience is the way you dress and Pilatus is too mediocre to care about? Then I know plenty of places which I would prioritize?

@@WalkandTalkchannel Pilatus > Matterhorn! It’s not everything in the size. You should introduce the people with not so mediocre places that everyone knows. For example Mythen.

@@stevlevajkovski860 What makes Pilatus better? I love the area around Zermatt, all the mountains around and the glaciers etc. while you have a cool mountain sticking up in the background, what do you see Pilatus offering more? Thanks for sharing! I'm planning on hiking from Mürren to Gspaltenhornhutte (1st night) and then from Gspaltenhornhutte to Bluemisalphutte (2nd night) before finishing the trip in Kandersteg. Do you know what the weather is like in early September? Will there be snow accumulated on the ground? I can't find any information about it. Thanks!!
@WalkandTalkchannel2 жыл бұрын
Hi Pablo, that sounds like a cool trip, if the weather allows I'll go to Bluemisalphutte next week! Ill start with the quick answer, I think it will be fine as long as the heat stays! And I've hiked all the way in to October some years. But it's really hard to say actually, 2 years ago it started snowing on 2000m+ the last few days of August. Also if you check my other video from Alpstein from last year I got a snow/hail cover in July. The best bet is always mid July-mid August when going high up in the mountains. The later in the summer the more volatile of course, but if it stays dry it will be fine and the weather tends to be good far in to September usually. A bad year its enough with a 1 day storm and the mountains are covered in snow. If there is a risk of snow coming (you'll know once closer) bring hiking sticks! I know it's not a straight forward answer but I hope it's somewhat helpful :)

Generally in the mountain huts, do they only accept cash or card as well? Also, can you book for your stay at the spot or you have to book in advance?
@WalkandTalkchannel2 жыл бұрын
They do accept card nowadays, COVID made it so most places in switzerland moved over to using contactless cards which is really convenient! I do always carry cash with me thought because if you are in a remote place and the reception is bad you migth have to stay for a while to pay that bill ;) you can always pay with cash so you can easily plan how much you bring with you (their homepages will tell you the price for a nights stay and then you can get out some extra if food is not included (drinks won't be included)) Regarding booking accomodation, you absolutly have to book in advance, some places you need to bring a sleepingbag/"bed bag" and others you'll get a bad (depending on which hut you take and how remote and which type of acommodation). if you go to remote places they will have to take you in though but it might be that you sleep on the floor somewhere so it's just better to book, but if the weather gets really bad they will lodge you.

Thanks a lot for the information! Very helpful for planning a trip! Just one thing more about the language. Do they also speak English in the mountain huts, or only Swiss German? 😅
@WalkandTalkchannel2 жыл бұрын
Great, good to hear :) Regarding the language, if you go to touristy places they speak english, if you go to more remote areas some will and others wont but you can always make yourself understood by pointing and use gestures. You'll have everything booked before you get there anyway and for that you can just use google translate and the rest is easy ;)!

Hello My name is SALEEM and I live in Sydney Australia I am 54 Average hiker I want to know can we do hiking in one day from Griesalp to Murren as you done from Murren to Griesalp , is that would be easier as starting from Griesalp , incase if you get late even then you would be fine as you are going downhill and you don’t need a bus to come back to Murren, Please give me advice as I would be doing alone. Most important thing as you got special modified bus which took you back to Murren Can you tell me from where I can take a bus in the morning to go up and then starts my hiking to go downhill and which one would be the first bus to go uphill and what about the 2nd bus to go up Hope you got my point to understand, I have subscribed you channel and like too. Please I need your humble advise and help Many thanks SALEEM

Hi Salem as long as you are good hiker and you can walk no problem 7-8 hours you can easily do it . The fact you make the question maybe is a bit of a flag . Can you read a mountain / trail map ? Essentially from 8 am to 8pm you have 12 hours of light . Will take you 3-4 hours to get to the top from either side …. Based on your fitness. So after you can even run it all downhill in one hour or take it super easy and chill at every hut and takes 5-6 hrs to go down Look at the trail map so you know
