Fallsy (Iafallo) was an undrafted NCAA player. He basically got a walk on at camp two years ago, and he’s been nothing but a bloodhound on the puck ever since. Yes, all he needs is the right identity, as does the whole team, and he should just shoot into orbit. Being on the top line with Kopi and Brownie has helped a lot. Consistency, it must come. Soon,

Keep preaching about Horvat. When Horvat hit 400 faceoffs this year, nobody else in the league had hit 300. This was due to injuries to both the 3rd and 4th line centres, and the fact that Pettersson (who had played RW the year before in Sweden) hadn't gotten the hang of faceoffs yet. The team relied on Bo for virtually every faceoff in that stint and he ended up finishing the season with the most in the NHL. He won 53.67% of those. More than that, with Pettersson taking the 1C position and with Horvat losing both linemates from the year before (Boeser stayed on 1st line with Pettersson and Baertschi was injured) he still managed to put up a career year. Favourite Canuck hands-down. He had a rotating carousel of dozens of line combinations this year but managed to make it work. He's solid at both ends of the ice. An absolute Swiss army knife. He just keeps getting a little bit better year after year.

Ducks: Miller. Could not agree more. I see him doing another year after this. He is soooo underrated. Cyotes: Raanta. He had an injury riddled season but when he's on, he is something else. Bruins: Bergeron. He does it all and is an impeccable leader. The character and talent are equal. Sabres: Reinhart. Agree for the third time. Whilst not being the center, he sure feels like the anchor to that line. Flames: Brodie. He does so much behind the scenes for the team, it's ridiculous. Backbone outside Giordano. I PAUSED THE VIDEO TO WEIGH IN WITHOUT YA! Canes: Slavin. Guy is just starting to get recognized but any team would be lucky to have him. Blackhawks: Toews. Sure, his offense is down, but there is no doubt his leadership is holding that team together. Avalanche: Landeskog. I've admired his play for years, great to see him taking the reins. Still doesn't get enough credit. Blue Jackets: Seth Jones. One of the best d-men in the league all-around. Hope injures don't come again. Stars: Radulov. The guy fights hard as hell every minute and makes Seguin and Benn look lazy. Amazing. Red Wings: Zetterberg.. oh wait. Athanasiou. He seems to be coming into his own and could go real far. Oilers: McDavid. 'Nuff said. Panthers: Huberdeau. Barkov is the pop. name, but I love the work ethic of the aforementioned. Kings: Doughty. If there is a consistent and pounding heart to that team through all diversity, it's him. Wild: Dumba. Going to be the future top d-man and is developing well. Canadiens: Kotkaniemi. Just the potential and drive. Going to be the future #1 center IMO. Predators: Josi. Had to be. What an amazing player, leader and defensemen. Easily their best. Devils: Hall. A talent unleashed foolishly by Edmonton. Or smart if you consider the future cap hit. Islanders: Nelson. What can I say, always loved his play. Sure, he's been inconsistent, but maybe it's time he kept it up. Rangers: Lundqvist. The King still reigns for me. Backbone for one of my favorites. He'll bounce back. Senators: Anderson. Say what you will, but that guy is one of the few pieces that makes that horrid team respectable. Flyers: Giroux. Guy is so under the radar in comparison to other superstars. But man, he still blows me away. Penguins: Malkin. How can you not? He's like Crosby but uninhibited. Just guns it. Sharks: LaBanc. His work ethic alone. And that contract.. Real character. Guy will only get better. Blues: Perron. Surprised myself. But c'mon, he's a real leader. Digs in deep and fights hard for the puck in any circumstance. Lightning: Point. So unassuming. Kid keeps a low-profile on the ice and it almost seems like he sneaks up on the opposition. Leafs: Matthews. I would have picked one of their recent acquisitions, didn't seem right. His talent is undeniable. Canucks: Markstrom. I never viewed him as a starter a few years ago. He is a damn good one these days. Knights: Marchessault. I was blown away when Florida let him go. Loved him in Florida and was miffed. Great player. Capitals: Ovechkin. Been a fan since his first game. Loved the Caps since '98. Favorite team. He CAN beat Gretzky. Jets: Roslovic. Love his potential and heart. Wait.. no one is going to read this. Oh well.

Just look at what he did the last 3 weeks of the season with Larkin and Bert, and then right off that he had a crazy run for team Canada. Both him and AA are really solid players.

As a Blues fan I have two things to say. Tarasenko is a great player and you are right about his hot and cold streaks when it comes to scoring but if you really watch him even during his cold streaks, he is a gritty player. He does some ridiculous moves to keep the puck in the zone, to get the puck to another player and to keep the play going, I think his tenacity gets overlooked because people expect him to put up points but if you really watch him, you'd realize he always plays with a lot of heart. That being said, Parayko is the most beloved player on the blues by die hard fans. He's a gentle giant that hardly ever makes mistakes. He has incredible hockey sense and when he gets a chance to shine, he does, example is the OT winner against the Avalanche this past season. I understand why youd pick Tarasenko but if you ask any true blues fan, they will tell you Parayko is the fan favorite right now.

Hmm...off the top of my head... Gibson Kuemper Wagner Skinner Giordano Slavin Lehner Girard Anderson Bishop Athanasiou Nurse/Draisaitl (Tough, and of course I like McDavid.) Acciari (now) Doughty Dumba Byron, and thank you for mentioning him! Armia's a fine choice, in my opinion, and for what it's worth Juulsen, who I just hope can get and stay healthy. Arvidsson Hischier/Subban Cizikas Zibanejad Duclair, fine case for Chabot though. But when Duclair's good (which is inconsistent), he's damn exciting to watch. Sanheim Hornqvist Hard not to say Couture after the playoff he had Parayko Gourde Rielly Markstrom Stone/Marchessault (Both are on a short list of favorite players, hard to pick one over the other.) Kuznetsov Scheifele It's fun to talk about favorite players. Thinking of these guys made me happy, and eager to watch them next season.

Honorable mention to Casey De "Little touch o' Battlin' Billy" Smith in Pittsburgh. I'm not saying I'm a fan of Battlin' Billy's brand of netminding, who's a bit before my time anyway, but in this current era of crashing creases with reckless abandon and it being open season on goaltenders I can appreciate Casey's sneaky little combos of junk-bound jabs and shimmy shoves in between saves when opposition gets too close for comfort.

100% disagree about Tarasenko. I'm sure THG watches a ton of hockey, but I've literally watched almost every single game of Tarasenko's career. His 200' game his improved dramatically over the last couple of years. There was no time during the playoffs where his effort was anything below excellent. Regular season? Yeah, I'll give you that. Tarasenko has the talent to score 50 goals in a season, but he probably won't and part of the reason is because he is unselfish. He likes to pass and he is incredibly underrated as a passer. Bonus byte: Marner is not better than Matthews.

THG, you Rock dude ! Being a Blues fan from the Red Baron days my favorite Blues player of all time will forever be Bob Gassoff , he was the reason I changed my number from 13 to 3 ! I admire you for how you treated them during the playoffs since I guess you are not a big Blues fan, but I wanted you to know I believe you did a great job handling the playoffs and as of right now how can I not be a fan of Bin Nasty since he helped bring the Cup to Saint Louis ! Couldn't agree more about Couturier. He's definitely one of the most underrated players in the league. Even before the last two season where he started putting up more points, he's been such a good center for a while now. He just does so many things right with or without the puck, and his hustle and effort are top flight every shift.

Shannon, I’ve only been following you for about 2 or 3 months, but I absolutely love your content. Where I live it’s difficult to get many opinions on hockey pertaining to many teams. While I don’t 100% agree with every opinion of yours, you do a great job backing them all up. Also, the ones I disagree with are far and few in between. This has quickly become one of my favorite go to KZbin channels and I look forward to all your content. As a Stars fan it’s hard to disagree with Faksa. I love the big 3 on defense almost all equally, but as far as forwards are concerned no one gives the effort he has. Dickinson probably can and will in a more consistent role, but we’ll have to see if he ever gets one in Dallas.

i've been telling people for 3 years mitch is the best leaf, though some games freddy is more important. my personal leafs depth chart has always been 1-marner, 2-freddy, 3-tavares, 4-rielly, 5-matthews. matthews used to be better but forgot how to play defence i guess?

Matthews is overrated & I am Leafs fan. If you look at his overall game, Marner gets overrated too for sure but that’s cause he’s on the Leafs. Marner is the best player on this team cause he plays in all situations. I don’t get why leafs fans think Matthews is better

You're welcome to your opinion obviously, but if you have Matthews at 5 that's a bad one imo. Matthews didn't forget how to play defense. He was still out there doing a lot of the same good things he did the first 2 years he was in the NHL. His line construction this year was poor from start to finish which caused problems all over the ice. It caused problems in his offense and his defense. Now, I'm not blaming his linemates before someone spins this back at me, but I am saying they did not work as a group. Marner had the best season of any Maple Leaf last year, but whether he's a better or more important player than Matthews is highly debatable and I'm still on the side of not. Also, fwiw, there is basically zero argument to support Marner having been the better player in either of their first 2 years in the league. Don't take this as an attack on Mitch at all, he's amazing and one of my favorite Leafs in a long time, but I think somewhere along the way people have lost touch with how good Matthews is.

@@dghvdhfhhb6405 Matthews shockingly might actually be becoming underrated. There is a difference between being overtalked about and overrated. A lot of the people talking about Matthews don't even concede how good he is anymore. The pendulum has swung imo. I'm not saying he's the 2nd best player in the NHL behind McDavid as some small group of people maybe got carried away with or something, but he's a legitimately elite center and goal scorer who has been only held back by injuries and quite frankly his coach. Marner is not a better 200 ft player than Matthews is and never has been. His inclusion on the PK isn't indicative of that. Babcock had this odd and frankly inexplicable allergy to putting any of his top 9 centers into our penalty kill this year and eventually it ended up really hurting us against Boston. I don't personally see Marner as a better player than Matthews for a few reasons, but that doesn't mean I think anything but great things about Marner. I think we're incredibly lucky to have both as Leafs.
