I think Osgood aged like a fine wine over the course of his NHL career. When he became an Islander, there were a lot of questions whether or not Osgood could still play at the same level with out a future hall of fame defense in front of him. Osgood sharpened his game away from Detroit, leading a suspect Islanders team to the playoffs in 01-02 with a .910. In 03-04 with the Blues, he had another solid season as starter posting another .910 over 67 games. In 07-08, in which I think was the best year of Ozzy’s career; he became the backbone of another Cup winner in Detroit. He posted a .914 during 43 starts/appearances splitting time with Hasek. Hasek started the first 4 games vs Nashville, and honestly the team seemed nervous with him in net. When Ozzy took over in the first round it seemed like a wave of confidence enveloped the team. Osgood posted an incredible.930 and was one of the main reasons why Detroit won the Stanley Cup that season. He followed that incredible late-career run with another the following season nearly repeating (If not for Talbot in game 7) posting a .926 during the 08-09 playoffs. Not to mention he won 401 games. The last part of Ozzy’s career should get him into the Hall of Fame.

@@brooke-3615 Everyone has different opinions, the only real way of knowing is if he wasn't suffering from his injuries all the time. But with those injuries he got over 885 points in 708 career NHL games, 8th in PPG all time. Triple gold club twice. Calder trophy, art ross, Hart. He was pretty damn good when he was feeling healthy. But the fact that he was injured all the time makes him a forgotten player almost. Shadowed by the ones who could play healthy for their whole careers. So the fact that he was injured disqualifies him from being one of the best according to lots of people. So we will never truly know how great he was or could be. But in my mind he was the best forward in the game during his best years, atleast in the 02-03 season.

It’s amazing how differently we look at concussions now and 20 years ago. Fans/Media/Management were questioning Lindros heart for not coming back when he got another concussion that season. Primeau got multiple concussions in the next few years and sometimes played the next game, and everyone thought he was a hero. That eventually ended his career early by coming back too quick as he still has post concussion effects to this day. He was the coach of my nephew’s Hockey team and I would hear all the stories how he would forget things mostly regarding his short-term memory.

Matthew Daley if anyone ever deserved to have post concussion symptoms and CTE, it’s Scott Stevens. Absolute piece of shit. The fact a clown like him is still remember as a good player when all he ever did was injure players with actual skill (kariya, Francis, etc) with hits that should have never been close to legal

@@bartholomewesperanza3442 Hits that I'm fairly certain NO LONGER ARE LEGAL, Ray Bourque winning the Cup was great, Scott Stevens losing his Cup, and, place in history was even better.

Sir, this The Hockey Guy's Channel, Arby's is down the street. Stevens' hits were legal and glorified by the league at the time. Just like Jack Tatum's were in 70s. They were not illegal, but neither sport could continue when guys are getting concussed like that, heads down skating or not.
