A cheap foam kneeling pad for gardening is one of the things I would suggest to protect your knees and keep you pants cleaner when you're setting the stabilizers or levelers, or whatever might require kneeling on the ground.

Man I am hooked on this account. Maiden voyage was Memorial weekend 2021 and I found this after. Can’t wait to show my husband all these tips!! I am logged into his KZbin account so I am sure he is being spammed with notifications from me liking all your videos and comments!

I totally agree. So professional and approachable. A couple other good ones are Adventures in PopUps and RVEastcoast.

Couldn't agree more on the leveler! We purchased one when we got our last camper! Best invention since cruise control! :)

Do you need one for each tire?
@ItsPoppin3 жыл бұрын
Nope, just one for the "low" side/tire.

Great point about how the mattress toppers can make the popup harder to close. Other KZbinrs have mentioned that too. Definitely a consideration. Appreciate the reminder. When my wife joins me for the 1st trip, the 2nd trip may need to include this. LOL

We bought a used pop up and one of those leveler came with it. I had no idea what it was. Got to looking at the worn paint and the light bulb went on. I instantly thought this is great. We used to have a 32' travel trailer. I'm 64 and pulling that stressed me to the point I gave up wanting to camp. We rented cabins. Recently we bought a 14' pop up. This is a dream to pull. I love camping again.

I have one of those screw type levelers and I love it. Have been using for the last 8 years and works like a charm on my pop up. Although I have been turning the screw with the manual wrench it came with.

Might be nice to show a picture of some of these items. Like the owl lights at night and what the mat looks like. Again, excellent video. Very informative. Thanks!

I have duel axle popup Its amazing the difference in stability on the highway. But like you said its to heavy for the lifter. I bolt two 2x6s to the rear bumper to use as a leveler. I back up onto them when needed

I store my bal leveler inside an old pizza delivery bag to keep things from getting dirty along with the ratchet and stabilizer blocks

I've come to enjoy our pop up the only downside is my wife and I have a 16 month old and naps don't go over to well because of the tent sides.

Have you had a chance to check out our Pop Up Camping in HOT Weather video? kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoe7hJmXo9RrbNE I ask because the DIY Reflectix Window Inserts & Reflective Tarps really help keep our camper much darker, which might help nap time if the issue with the tent side is too much light! It certainly helps us (and our dogs) sleep in a bit later and catch some post-hike naps in the afternoon :P

Yeah, they’ve been out of stock or at inflated prices for the last year. There are two alternatives that I know of. One is the EAZ lift leveler by Camco and the other is called the Kojack leveler. Both of which appear to work very similar to the BAL leveler. Perhaps you’ll have some luck finding one of these?

You mention toward the end the weight limit. Did you ever recall or find what the limit is? I have / just got a Rockwood HW27KS. Dry weight is 2962lbs and 3870 GVWR. Hoping this will work. Love your stuff BTW I was a fan even before we got our camper.
@ItsPoppin3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, the weight limit is somewhere between 1750 and 2000 lbs. Keep in mind, you'll also have have tongue jack and other wheel on the ground, so the BAL leveler isn't holding up your entire pop up. I think you be fine with your rockwood.
@gguswiler3 жыл бұрын
@@ItsPoppin thank you!! I was thinking of the entire weight. Thanks for helping me!! If you ever find your way to Minnesota and there is a meet and greet I’d come and say hello.

What's your choice of wifi boosters or extenders? Or do you purposely avoid them since you're camping? LOL. I wish I could, but I teach online and it's a 7 day a week gig. So I need to have a reliable source besides my phone's wifi hotspot. Cheers.

So we have a forest river popup and our cassette tank seems to leak when we flush it...as well as when we emptied it and moved it back and to rinse it out its making a noise like something is inside of it but I don't see anything sliding around....can you help me with any suggestions
@ItsPoppin3 жыл бұрын
My first guess is that it could be the rubber ring seal at the top that seals between the toilet bowl and the black water holding tank.

Do you know anything about why the bal leveler is no longer available. I was reading your comments and you mentioned 2 other brands and they are both unavailable as well. I am middle aged, and overweight and camp by myself or with a young child and I can't figure out a way to easily level my new to me pop up and have been desperately trying to find something this simple.

Thank you for such an informative video! I always enjoy watching your channel. I have a quick question regarding sway bars on pop ups. I have a viking 2108 st and the GVWR is 2700 lb. I've just purchased a sway bar and it is very heavy on its own. Do you use a sway bar?

No we don't. However, we have it on the list of things to look into in the future.

So here is what comes to mind: a. Make sure all of the possible ingress locations are sealed up (zippers. Velcro, bungies, etc.); and b. Make sure that when its dark out and you have your interior lights on, you limit the amount of time the door is open. I know a lot of people like using a thermocell for mosquitos, but we don't have one. Also, we don't use any traps or use any repellents when we're camping.
@rodgemic3 жыл бұрын
Food grade mint oil mixed in a small spray bottle with water has helped me. 5ish drops in a half liter of water. Mint oil is a natural repellant. Just dont go too heavy as it can give you a headache.

What can i do to prevent critters from entering my popup when it's not in use
@ItsPoppin4 жыл бұрын
I think the absolute best thing to do is eliminate any points of ingress. I know a lot of people recommend things like dyer sheets, clove scent, peppermint scent, or irish spring soap, but then again a lot of other people say those are wives tales. At any rate, it'll keep your camper smelling good. Another thing you can do is eliminate critters around your storage area, whether that is accomplished via trapping or maybe even a cat! Also, make sure you don't keep food in your camper for extended periods of time.
@dorisrorick23242 жыл бұрын
Bay leaves work well. Mice especially do not care for the scent. Use small zip lock baggies with small puncture holes( so the bay leaf scent is released ), and place them in all cabinets.
