Wyper is still my favorite "single arc" side character. Dude is so cool with his seastone skates, burn dial bazooka, and reject dial. He legit fought evenly with Luffy and technically killed Enel once. Badass! Make a 20-minute Wyper video! Also a big fan of Bellemere and Momonga a lot too. Must be a Mohawk thing! @@piegorgioni4931 Such a shame. I always liked the Skypeia Saga. I suppose it suffered from being between two fan favorite Sagas of the series with Alabasta and Water 7/Enies Lobby. While it might not be quite as good as them, it's still better than the East Blue Saga in general, Thriller Bark Saga, Fishman Island Saga and many of the little arcs of great larger Sagas like Little Garden, Whiskey Peak Amazon Lily, Return to Sabaody, Punk Hazard, and such imo. Not that I dislike those, but Skypeia is underrated and the Jaya/Skypeia Saga is actually the one that gives the most unique sense of adventure in the entire series imo. Plus, it was still the last time Robin got a solo fight so far...

Also seeing through the story a third time York new became my favorite of the arcs and kurapika my favorite main especially in the succession war. I feel because of him and the York new arc lead to the good stuff in the ant arc with contracts and sympathetic villains overall

It's good to see togashi go into the detail of abilities but sometimes it's better to just keep it simple. Hisoka in heavens arena first time against the clone guy was a good example of getting the information after the battle to show hisoka was more clever than you think with all the little moves he did after the fight. Little detail I saw second time was hakenberk 9th prince said he studied archery and that hit me like a truck seeing togashi just put i in ealry on pre Nen power. Some like the ant arc can go either way on drag or well paced but I feel York new had the best of both in how kurapika managed to trick the troope into almost fighting themselves and hisoka using future sight to his advantage all came together perfectly

@@ivanbluecool agreed but i still have a bad feeling that the succession ark is going to be lengthy because there is 6 plotlines running parallel (the zodiac traitor, hisoja, kurapicka, Gin, Netero and the kings plan). The year long hitayas doesn't help either. In my sisters opinion HxH would be better as a light novel right now and for the succession and the dark continent. It would put far less strain on the author and we can get a anime adaptation as well. I also agree with this because most chapters already feel like reading through a light novel.

Buggy was his first fight with another devil fruit user It was about showing Luffy that even though the fruit makes it harder for him to be killed that'll also be the case with other fruit users as well, meaning that he'll need to be observant and crafty if he wants to beat him. Also, it's about establishing that there was a relationship between Buggy and Shanks so that down the line, stuff like Rayleigh talking about Shanks and Buggy being on the same crew as Roger don't come completely out of no where.

One of my favourite side characters (among many others) is definitely Viola. I don't just love her design and abilities, but I think her being able to act as one of Doflamingo's subordinates and work among the people that took everything away from her (her sister, her country, her family and her title) only to protect her family and survive herself is very impressive. At least Nami, who was partially in a similiar position "only" needed to draw maps and had a goal she could actively work for (raising the 100 million Berry), even though it didn't work out in the end. But Viola probably didn't believe that Doflamingo would ever leave this place and couldn't think of anyone strong enough or willing to defeat him.

2 Things: 1. Nojiko wasn’t waiting for a rebellion. She, as well the rest of Cocoyashi village, was waiting for Nami to gather the 100 Million to buy back the village. I have had a really big theory (or fanfiction) that I have been thinking of for a while. It is that once Luffy defeats Blackbeard, Coby will already be either a Vice Admiral for the Marines. He will lead a fleet to Laugh Tale. As Luffy is claiming the title of the King of the Pirates, Coby will lead a sneak attack on Luffy and his crew. I think that while Luffy is celebrating his life goal, Coby will kill him. Coby will become an Admiral of the Marines because of this, and then (after many years and maybe a devil fruit addition) he will become Fleet Admiral. The reason that Oda has a drawing of an adult Luffy is that in the Epilogue to the series, Coby will write a letter to the dead Luffy, in which he reflects on what Luffy's and his own life would have been without each other. He will then, on his own, put a piece of this letter into every cannon on every ship in the entire fleet. He will then have every ship shoot every cannon at the same time to honor his best friend and the person that helped him achieve his dream in life. The cannonballs will all fall into the ocean, creating the shape of a straw hat.

Character the Straw Hats have, need to, or want to beat the shit out of: Antagonist Characters that don't have a name or need to be named in an SBS: Background Character Everyone else: Side Character and protagonist of their own story.

Sure Kotori has great strengths, but Hotori with his immeasurable power has a great battle he must conquer. And once that is complete we can knock Kotori out of the park as well. You have Buggy and your typical pirate like Kid or Peachbeard that goes out and plunder. But also pirates like Luffy or the Sun pirates (Fisher tiger's crew) that are not chaotic evil, that are not in that same mindset and want to chase their dreams. With the east blue I think Morgan was to show them the navy can be pretty corrupt. Buggy shows there will be enemies with devil fruit power. Cat guy shows that not every villain is gonna be dumb and actually be skillful. Kreig shows that there will be enemies with an army behind them and Arlington shows that there will be enemies with beyond human strength. I think that was the east blues lessons in a way.

Although I love Buggy and Wiper like hell, I do just want to take this time to put Miss Valentine under a much-needed spotlight. She didn't do much in her main arc and from what I know she doesn't really do anything afterwards (I haven't even finished the Water 7 arc so I don't really know for certain), but she has one of the damn coolest (and under-utilised) devil fruits in my opinion. I also felt she also had a pretty sick design. I honestly just wanted to see more of her, so yeah she's one my favourites for that reason

I feel it's more so temporary strawhat members. Nojoko gin Pauly etc where we get the cast have a team come along and then leave after the arc especially the impel down arc where we see many former enemies became the "hero's" to the arc

With buggy I think the lesson was probably that seemingly random side characters can have massive importance later on (with buggy @loguetown and also him being a part of the Roger pirates)

That’s a good list. The thing is Oda writes so many great characters it’s easy to name off a bunch who are really great. I think for my list I would include Margaret, Nolan, Hatchi, and Admiral Jonathan.

In the Bararie arc, it was stated that Creig ‘a crew could survived in the Grand Line only for a week. In our world people can survive over a month without any food. They probably had some provisions. So, there could have been few days worth of food. Therefore, Craig’s crew couldn’t have starved as much as it was shown. It was just a plot device to emphasize the danger of the Grand Line. By the way, how did they come back to East Blue chased by Mihawk??

Maybe the lesson for Buggy was "appearances can be deceiving"? He doesn't look very intimidating due to the whole clown get-up, but he's actually incredibly dangerous if you underestimate him, due to his fruit and his skill with knives. Not the smartest, or the strongest, but more dangerous than he appears at first glance.

my favorite side characters are probablyyyyyyy Mr 3, Jango, Fullbody, the entirety of cp9, Helmeppo... basically just characters that a large majority of the fandom doesn't really focus on, ie unpopular but not overhated. I got a soft spot for those types of characters

My favourite side characters, at least what i consider side characters. - Ace. I loved his design, his devil fruit, and that he was Luffy's brother. I was worried that he would die during Impel Down/Marineford, and a friend told that he won't die. - Bon Clay. I liked how he first interacted with the straw hats, becomes their friend, turned out to be the enemy, gets defeated and still considers them as friends with them. He's a funny character and is an loyal friend. I wanted him to be part of the crew. - Kuro. I liked how he portrayed as intelligent and cunning, and how he fights with his sword gloves. Really fascinating that his technique had the same speed as CP9, but less precise. I would like to come back, maybe as CP0. - Fujitora. What i love about Fujitora is that he's a good guy, honorable, cares about others, and fights for justice. I like the concept that he is blind, but extremely strong. And after having the Zatoichi movies, i appreciate him even more. - Moria. I liked his design, his devil fruit and that he's a version of Luffy who broke when Kaido defeated him. He has lots of potential, if he recovers from this shock, and stops loafing around. I love the Thriller Bark, which is my favourite arc. It would be nice to see him in Wano, getting his revenge on Kaido, with the Black beard crew. Some favourite side characters that are currently main characters in the current arc of Wano. - Drake. I liked how at first he was an ex-marine with dinosaur power, then turns out to be a under cover agent. - Kaido, King, Queen, Jack and the rest of the beast pirates. Anyway, have a good day/night.

18:31 yeah I love Pauli. His fightingstyle was pretty amazing as well. And he was basicly a Red Hering in terms of new Carpender. Franky was a Enemy, so getting Pauly would make more Sense for Readers at Wather Seven. Talking of Impel Down. The Warden who controlls the Bluegori. Is he a Dwarf? Kinda looks like one.

Buggy arc is maybe based around treasure in the sense of what's important to you. There was the whole subplot with Chu and how his treasure was the pet store and Luffy's hat being his treasure and how much it upset him when it was damaged. Also, the villian (Buggy) was one of the few characters so far who only wanted superficial treasure (money) while the other villains had wanted status or something and Luffy's treasure was much more symbolic. Also, because God Buggy's presence is a treasure to us viewers.

I think the lesson with buggy was... There is a middle ground between treateing your crew like objets or a means to your dream Verus them being your family. If you notice that when one of his members are hurt he has some form of reaction. Then he has parties for them and just being a decent captain.
