My Favorite Spyderco Yet! Best of All-time Though? - Sage 5 Lightweight

This is an Un-Review of my favorite Spyderco knife to-date. This was one of the other unboxings that went mysteriously missing along with the 'Shempp Bowie'.
It's a perfect middle ground between the bigger PM2 or Shaman and the smaller Lil Native or Dragonfly. It occupies a similar space as the Para3, but without the weird looks.
Hint: This model generates 5% of its sales as a donation to an Alzheimer's research and care program in Colorado. #SpydercoKnives

It’s a classic for sure. I own one Spyderco. If I were to buy another, it would be this one or the Manix.

Thanks, Winchester. The Manix 2 was my first non-factory second Spyderco. I like the Sage 5 more, personally. I'm still waiting to get my hands on a Shaman, which is the only one I think I may like more.

It surprised me how smooth it was and how good it feels. I am not the biggest fan of the LW Spyderco models, but this one nails it.

Love this knife. Been meaning to buy it ever since I experienced my friends Native 5, but just haven't yet because I'm trying to not just buy Spydercos, lol. But it's going to happen. Not sure if this one or the G10 model but she will be mine.

It and my Lil Native are favorites of mine. The lightweights need no breaking in like the CF/G10 model. I had to pull myself away from buying almost all Spydercos too, so I know what you mean. Stay well and welcome aboard!

I loved the sage 5 man, and I agree its easily one of these best! MY ONLY REASON for not keeping mine is I love modding my spydercos and this one didnt have much available for it and was hard to find new scales ect... I also thought the choke up point was slightly too narrow BUT i think i was making excuses to ease my mind of getting rid of mine :( great video brotha!

There were some nice scales in micarta and CF available for them just before I got mine (of course). They say those will come back in, but I haven't seen them yet. I keep eyeballing the BladeHQ exclusive Sage 5 LW in coated M4. If they stick around for much longer, maybe. If the Sage 5 had thicker scales, I might settle on it and not keep looking for a Shaman I like. I hope the aftermarket stuff comes along for this model. It's a great one for me. Thanks for watching! It's got that middle finger grip deepest scallop on the handle profile, reminds me of a number of knives which make that same correct choice. I have strong opinions on that as well. This knife makes me happy, but I will not be giving up the Shempp Bowie or the Manix. Those are my perfect folders from Spyderco, no slight to this fine piece of equipment.
