My gosh, he's huge!!!! Btw, my unit is on it's way back to Simrad. They couldn't be sure if the head unit was the problem or the transducer so we sent both back for testing. Hopefully I'll get it back in a couple weeks.

YES. it’s the most confusing aspect in Sportfishing that a reel with the handle on the right side is a RIGHTY for conventionals reels and on the left side for spinners. 😖🤷🏻‍♂️. The rod should always be in your dominant hand if you ask me. You are correct sir! 😁😁

Yes sir!! High speed reels have somehow become industry standard and it’s a mistake. Fighting a fish on a high speed reel is very uncomfortable. It seems reels are getting faster and faster too. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

Springtime is all about finding baitfish. You have Bunker(Pogies) , Herring, Tinker Mackerel, Shad in some back water areas, sand eels, Lobster and Crabs. This video shows you how find the best spots right now. kzbin.info/www/bejne/moGUgImYjJuIjqssi=2p8OF0DV5LfqXz5i Bunker are easiest to find so I’d concentrate on finding them first. Splashes on the surface gives them away. If you can’t find Bunker schools Fish near the highest concentration of Lobster pots. We caught a lot of fish close to you and every fish over 20lbs had lobsters in their bellies. I would stay in the back water for sure. Start fishing wherever you mark bait. Start at the back shallow and work moving towards the ocean until you locate bait fish flipping on the surface or on your sonar. Snag Bunker for bait or use sabiki rigs in the shipping channels for Mackerel 👍👍👍. Let me know if you have any other questions 👍👍

The Fury used to be cheaper than the Abu Beast I’m using in this video. If you’re casting all day the Abu’s are fine, but for anything else this is the best for the dollar amzn.to/3rV743v. In 10 years the AbU will be a shell of what it once was, I wear them slap OUT. you can hand the Accurate down for generations. Seriously. you can’t find better components. 👍👍

How severely can turbidity affect depth readings? I increased noise filter and set max depths, it was much better but still very quickly skipping to 40 ft. In 20 ft. Of water. This happened for much longer before I fixed settings and was almost completely not happening after settings. Was it simply the sonar return having trouble with the severely turbid water?

That can definitely be a problem. It’s probably the most common issue when something is going funny. If it’s a transom mount tilting the following edge down can really help as it increases water pressure against the face. Sometimes a pickup or lifting strake can cause similar problems. Increasing ping speed can slow the displays tendency to hunt some.

When you say edge down, do you mean adjust to be angled a certain way? Also, I was in some deeper water in the Sound a few days before last trip, did not seem to have any confusion with depth.

Well there was a man day to keep 1 million fish here in California long story short I hear they took that mandate out they want the striper population to decrease so our Delta smell and salmon can thrive.
