Awesome video. My only question I haven't seen an answer to is how far back do you drop your line to know you're at the correct depth and do you use a steal leader? I tried trolling for walleye this year and I felt with a bottom bouncer I couldn't feel if I was at bottom or not. Maybe my bouncer wasn't heavy enough but also couldn't feel bottom and would keep letting line out or tried with the line counter and would add 10ft per depth since I was trolling 1.4mph. Maybe you can make a more detailed video on complete setup with what the drag should be at too or just comment back. Really appreciate everything bud. I checked all previous videos and didn't see the answer so hope you can let me know. Tight lines brother

Trolling spinners for walleye I use 1oz per 10’ depth. If you start be keeping your line at about a 45 degree angle it will help you feel the bottom. Pull your rod forward and pause to let the bouncer settle. Then let your rod backwards keeping tension on the line and you should feel the tension decrease when the bouncer touches bottom. Something I’ve started using when trolling is PowerPro Depth Hunter. It’s metered braid so you know exactly how much line you have out and it’s easily repeatable.

Great video. I'm headed to Cass Lake Mn this weekend. When you set up your trolling rig how tight do you have the drag and do you run with the clicker on? First time targeting these beast by trolling late season. Thank you and keep the Fish On!

Richard Anderson Walleye or white has been good and black/orange. The big main lake area of cass is a little featureless besides a few bars but around star island there’s wishbone bar then the potato islands have good structure too. I go in July but my dad goes back up around now. Shouldn’t be too many boats if i had to guess either. Big big fish potential. Lmk how she goes

Dude....at 6:51 you grab the bait with your bare hand while the musky is still hooked. Not smart. If you’ve ever had a fish thrash and stab 5/0’s an inch into your hand, while he is still hooked, you’ll regret it instantly. I’d suggest getting a Grab-It. You can grab and remove the hooks without getting anywhere near the bait Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to save you significant injury. Few years back one of our group had go to the hospital two hours away to get his hand stitched doing the same thing Also, as far as I can tell the other bait is still in the water. First thing we do is pull lines so they don’t get tangled on a big fish. That fish was small enough to handle pretty easily. Not always the case

Wisconsin permitted trolling a few years ago. Guess the Politicians got too old to cast and wanted to keep fishing like others had wanted to do for years.
