One thing I love about your channel with Muskie and pike is how you treat the fish when you put them back into the water. So many times I have seen fishermen not nurse the fish back to health and that you wait until the fish swims away before you let them go. A sign of good fishermen. In WI where I live my friend has shown me his honey holes where we catch Muskie and pike in about 3-4ft of water in a tiny little river. One time we caught 3 muskies all at least 38" and a good sized pike about 37" in one day. And he always taught me to respect the fish and to nurse them back before letting go. So kudos on knowing how to treat the fish!!

Great stuff. Sloppy net job at 14:54, though. Keep your eyes on the bag and keep it up rather than turn around, high five, yell, and let the bag hang down like that. Keep your eyes on that fish. I've seen big fish instantly flop out of that net when the rim isn't held up like that. I'm sure you have, too. Never take it for granted, especially the big ones.

What net is that? Powercatch 44"? It somehow wasn't big enough at 15:27, tail damage. Great video though, more fun than ice fishing for sure.

Hate it when people have Musky out of the water for too long, they expire quickly. Keep it or release it. Stroke your ego later (Not saying this dude did, just in general). We really have to retain a population of these large beauties.

Great show !!Was at the Angle area last week of October and water was 47-50 degree way too warm, what type of boards where you pulling the big baits with and did they pull the 13" grannies ok?
@InDepthOutdoorsTV9 жыл бұрын
+darol2005 The guys were using Off Shore boards. I checked with James and he said they did "OK" at best. He's thinking he'll try something different ion the future because the drag of the big baits negatively impacted the spread.
@slumpbustertackle36918 жыл бұрын
curious if you guys tried the new off shore mag boards for bigger baits? if so, how was the performance on bigger baits?
@mullz13829 жыл бұрын
James was wondering using these big baits for muskies how often do you catch big walleyes by accident ?

Great stuff there, my wife just caught her first Musky last Sunday (11/15/15) on Lake St. Clair, and we're definitely going to be targeting them next season. Can you tell me what the trolling rod-holders you use are, and what rods you like for this? Thanks.
@BoboAthanassion8 жыл бұрын
On another note: I'm using 30lb. Fire line. Is that ok to use? I could switch it up to 80 lb. fire line.
@Brodieeeful4 жыл бұрын
John Athanassion I use 80 always
@marcwhite75796 жыл бұрын
love your videos but you really should have a wider bump board so no part of the fish lays on the carpeted deck when measuring.
