Salut Alex and thanks for the video. A jacket I highly recommend for running between 10 Celsius and -5 Celsius is the Gore R7 Shakedry Trail. It is very minimal (just a chest pocket), it can be unzipped from the bottom or the top, the hood has a close-fitted fit and a nice internal system to keep it in place on your head even if you zip down. I ran 2 hours in pouring rain at 5-7 degree Celsius with a light baselayer and it was perfect and I also use it below freezing with a thick baselayer and my running vest with bottles under the jacket. Shakedry is the most advanced technology from Gore, with excellent breathability also. Expensive but worth every penny.

Tights for me: New Balance Impact Run - a cargo pocket on the left leg, a zip pocket on the right which is big enough for a an iPhone ProMax. Also a zip key pocket at the back. Can usually be bought at a good discount if you get the previous year’s London Marathon version from the NB website. £27.50 at the moment. Shirt: When it is properly cold for here (-2 and down) I love the Nike Therma Fit Run Division Sphere Element. Expensive but it’s a wonderfully comfortable, warm, sweat wicking and even reasonably water resistant shirt. Currently £75 😮😮 Jacket: Whatever Nike, Asics or adidas have in their bargain bin as I only wear them for warmups to get to the session before tying them to a road sign until I finish. Also, butt volume needs to be a metric in every manufacturers sizing guidelines. I’m a skinny man with a high volume butt. I need to know these things. 🤣

I' m pretty much unaffected by cold lol. I wear Shorts or Half Tights the whole year almost. Tops I usually go for either a T-Shirt with Arm Sleeves or if it' s very cold a Baselayer with a T-Shirt on Top. Only thing I struggle with is my hands, so I often have to wear two pairs of gloves over another.

Great video always Alex, I really like your recommendations for winter gear. So far this winter has been so warm, I used thin longsleeves and a very light weight vest by decathlon. For tights you also might have a look at odlo products, fit ist really good and price fair. Any new shoes in for testing?

I often wonder why no ones ever reviews gear by Odlo - they know how to create winter gear for sure and the quality is always top notch, I'm using some of my Odlo-stuff for years now. My favourite new Odlo-piece this season is the „Zeroweight Ceramiwarm mid layer“ (I think..), it's super versatile, comfy and with a base layer will keep me warm even at -10°C. Also love Odlos base layers, underwear, gloves, socks... they have a lot of great stuff. Another great piece I really love is the „Instant Pant“ by La Sportiva. It's extremely comfy and super lightweight, also very versatile temperature wise - I even bought two of them. 🙂 I prefer super light gloves and beanies so in case they get too warm I can easily put them in my running belt. The „Microfiber reversible“ by Buff is super thin, somewhat breatheable too, yet it shields temperatures and wind perfectly. The „Ceramiwarm Light“ gloves by Odlo are probably too thin for most runners, but fit my need perfectly because they too can be easily stored in case my hands get too warm. Anyway, some great items, thx for sharing! Thank god for good winter gear. 🙂
