Thanks Kitty! For anyone out there who is struggling with wraps without poppers for the inserts, it's relatively easy and inexpensive to add poppers to them with a pressing tool and snaps.

With my son i used every kind of cloth diaper and never really settled into one type. I had my daughter 13 years apart and got her a newborn prefold stash that she fit for 5.5 months and a stash of one size pockets and decided i much prefer washing the seperate pieces that come with cover systems and gave all the pockets to my sister for my niece because she likes them. We mostly use size 1 esembly fitteds now but im pregnant again and plan to continue using cover systems. Im going to get a bunch of inserts though that dont need the folding so i can stack them and carry less on the go in the diaper bag then some flats as emergency diapers and just keep using anything we already have. I think cover systems are going to be great for 2 kids because its a bit less laundry and less to carry around for 2 babies.

Have you tried the V3 of bare and boho? Supposedly the elastics are more gentle? And how many wraps and how many inserts do you think one would need for a full daytime nappy stash of all in twos? I’m still pretty new to cloth and am trying to work out what to invest in as my main system. I really like the idea of all in two, but am trying to work out which ones are best for me

Yes! I have a full review of the v3 on my blog. The elastics are definitely more gentle but people sometimes still struggle, especially with chunkier babies. I’d say about 6-8 wraps and 20-25 inserts would be about right, assuming you’re going to wash your nappies every other day. 😊

Do the wipe-clean shells irritate the baby's skin more? (since it wouldn't be breathable)

Actually the kind of fabric that is used for the shells is breathable, sort of like a breathable waterproof coat that you’d wear for outdoor exercise. Disposable nappies are actually less breathable than cloth covers! So parents usually report fewer rashes with cloth nappies than with disposables. If you want something really breathable then you might like to look at wool nappy covers 😊

Can i wash cloth diapers with baby soap?

I’ve never tried it, but probably wouldn’t recommend it. Nappies need to be cleaned really well so a good detergent is best ☺️

Wait I got confused… what is the difference between a prefold and a trifold? I googled it and it still makes no sense. Aren’t they the same thing?
