In my brain (as not a drummer) Sultans has always been a highlight for the guitar voices. Especially in the live extended versions, the live riffing has been so incredible and is what is most known. Though if I'm recalling correctly there is a very famous recording where David Withers goes wild for a performance of Sultans because his parents were in the crowd.

@@GatoWales "Tunnel of Love" was from the Making Movies album, which came out in 1980 when Pick Withers was Dire Straits' full-time drummer. Omar Hakim played on Brothers in Arms, which came out in 1985.

Terry Williams, when with Dire Straits was an amazing drummer and I agree, one of the best drum solos ever.

Terry didn't join until the Live Over Gold tour, this was originally played by Pick Withers, Dire Straits' first drummer.

I would love to see what kind of amazing beats you would do on a Terry bozzio or niel peart sized drumset. I'm blown away with what you produce with minimal piece sets. Absolutely amazing.

Maybe just give up? You’re stuck in a loop and need to get out. There’s more to life than asking a single person the same question over and over. Go outside.

Wonderful solo. It isn’t just “look at how fast I can hit stuff”, it actually builds a solid groove and develops the idea. The other stuff is impressive, but it gets boring after a little while.

MAD , I’m a hardcore metal head but I have every dire straits album that came out on venal . I’m not surprised that bit of drums is one of YOURE favourites, it’s a great song start to finish . Best part of YOURE clips is you bloody live to hit drums , it’s obvious. It’s also the best reason to . Mad drummer man
