That was great Emily, so interesting to hear of all these podcast - I'd only heard of a handful of them. My favourite knitting podcast is Finnish Knitting Stories. There's a bit of spinning and crocheting in there too, and she's just so lovely to watch! Also love Fruity Knits, can't remember if you mentioned them. They're a mother/daughter duo and although there's some traditional podcasting of their own knitting, they also have a full length interview with someone related to knitting or fibre per episode, plus shorter sections of Knitters around the world, travel vlogs and fashion shows - so much of interest in them. Other than those larger channels I prefer to watch smaller channels like Franny Do Makes, Kelly at Row Row and Kades, and your own (which I'm new to, but really enjoying!) Fran is a fellow Yorkshire and Kelly is from the North East, but we'll excuse her for that 😂

I love ‘maybe bre’. She is similar to retro Claude but plus size. The wooly worker is also a fave. She is in Scotland and she doesn’t do a whole lot of editing on her videos so feels like sitting with a friend.

Hi Emily, I’m in Australia, some of my favourite knitters and crocheters are, you are on my list as well😊. Stash down dairies - Canada Gemma Mills - UK Doso knits - USA Hive Knits and Natters - UK Copycat stitch - USA Yarn waffle podcast - UK(hasn’t posted a video in a little while). Karcher makes - USA The cozy cottage crochet - USA WoolyAlly - Australia and very new to podcasting. Kristyknitsnsew - in Poland but is Australian With yarn in front - USA Purls and polish - USA Michaela - Ireland I do have a few others but they have been mentioned, I like to find podcasters who haven’t been doing it for too long and help support them, I also like to go back and binge watch from the start but am too lazy to watch 100+ videos. I enjoy the videos you do, thank you for putting together this list. Edited to add a podcast

That was a very interesting podcast. I tend to watch newer podcasts, who are just starting up and see how they develop. My favourite podcasters all have a good sense of humour, are size inclusive and the first 3 all have health issues with which they have to cope. First of all is Anne of No Excuses. She is my favourite podcaster and has a dry sense of humour. Then is Mandy of Mouse’s Makes. Again, she is very funny, she has 40 wips on the go and uses all kinds of yarns. Aimee has Happy Little Yarn channel, ironically named as she is often anything but happy! She is a slow knitter and often starts KALs at which she herself miserably fails. Lesley of Not Quite Enough Yarn is extremely entertaining and - as the name suggests - tends to use all different bits of yarn in her projects. Franny of Franny do makes is exuberant and prolific but very down to earth Angela of Yarn N Yarns does knitting, spinning and crochet and is very positive about her work. All of them except Aimee are British, and all except Franny are plus size. As I love sock knitting best, I also follow Lisa of Knit all the Yarn, Sara of Sara loves sock wool and Kay of the Crazy Sock Lady. The first ones, however, are my favourites. Hope you find something you enjoy amongst them. Jinny

Honestly Jinny there is a fab selection there - I’ve only heard of one (the crazy sock lady!) and I’ve made note of those to try, especially your first listed ones. Thank you so much ☺️

Thank you so much for including me in such a fabulous list of podcasters! 🥰 I'm so touched by your lovely comments ❤ I started following YOU because we're around the same size! I love seeing more larger podcasters ❤ A podcaster that I watch once in awhile (depending on content) is Engineering Knits -- she's a friend of Retro Claude's and she has done some pretty interesting historical knitting projects, mostly with knitting machines.

You’re very welcome - you’re honestly one of the people who inspired me to give KZbin a go, watching you do it early on made me start turning it over in my mind that maybe I could do it too! I’ve found so much inspiration over the years from your pattern round up videos, and I love your podcasts too. Engineering knits is another one I should have mentioned on this video, I really love her videos of her knitting machine - my mum had one when I was younger and it’s really nostalgic for me! I also really enjoy the calm and chilled vibe of her videos.

Claude is one of my drop everything for new Retro Claude/ will watch everything creators as well. I dip in and out of Creabea based on how into her new designs. And I love Jonathan but I know I'll never knit in what he knit with because our budgets are too different. I really like Wildflower Magic (tiny US knitter) because of the way she captions everything and makes her podcast more accessible. Onyinye A does the most inspiring fiber art. Everything she does is self drafted OOFK pieces, but I so enjoy something so extremely different. I can't tell you why exactly I love The Corner of Craft, but she always makes me happy

Ahh I’m so glad you feel the same way about Claude, I absolutely adore her channel and everything she does! I’ll have a look at the other ones you mentioned, it seems we have very similar tastes, and I somehow had completely missed that The Corner of Craft has a podcast - I follow her on instagram and have ordered her advent this year but had no idea she has content! I’ll definitely check that out.

Interesting video as I've not heard of most of the KZbinrs, so added some to my list to watch! Your hair looks amazing in your video, how do you style it so it's curls at the end? ❤

Thank you that’s really lovely! My hair is naturally curly, but it was about ready for a wash when I filmed 😅 so I’d curled the ends at the front a little bit using a Dyson air wrap on a few bits.

Thanks Emily. I have caught all of these and regularly watch Laura Penrose , Lauren and Ali. I don’t know any one else who watches Breathing Yarn though, I love her, she (Isabella?) makes my Sunday knitting! I also have stopped watching videos at the first mention of Petiteknits as we have so many more interesting designers that deserve recognition. I can understand the popularity of them for beginners though and admit to knitting Tolsta Tee no 3 this week as it was a great pattern to learn to knit a garment on for me. Rebecca Clow is very generous pattern writer and I feel confident now to try something more complicated. I also enjoy Calon Yarns , from Cardiff? Genevieve in the North deserves more viewers. She has designed a fantastic colour work jumper My favourite crochet KZbin channel is Tinna Thorudottir Thorvalder who has taught me mosaic crochet and is very funny. “It is a Sarah” is probably my favourite European channel. If a project isn’t Heartjumping to her she has decided not to do it , quite right too !

I do completely agree Rebecca is a massively generous designer, she does so many variations in her patterns you get a lot of bang for your buck, and I can completely see the appeal of the Tolsta, I also really admire that she got into designing to fully understand designing inclusively. I think that deserves massive props! Isabella is fab isn’t she, it’s such an interesting and varied approach to a knitting KZbin and it’s really refreshing. I’ll check out the channels you mentioned for you - I’ve seen some of Tinna’s patterns and they’re stunning, I didn’t realise she had a KZbin!

@@emily_knits_ I hadn’t actually taken on board that Crea Bea is now pretty much exclusive Rebecca’s patterns which it wasn’t to start with, good point. I also meant to thank you for introducing me to Hirismakes and though I do watch Work-Knits ( Lauren I think will go far) I’ll admit to being 66 and probably not the target demographic 😉 If anyone is interested in a Yorkshire themed crochet CAL Meemamakes is starting one. She, like me, has disabilities and has adopted Yorkshire as her ‘Home County’

Thank you for this video. I was already subscribed to a fair few of the people you spoke about, but I have subscribed to rest and am really looking forward to going through their content ☺. There's a lovely lady that I watch regularly called Sheila, she has a few channels and posts most days. Her main channel is called Sheila's Knitting Tips and Other Stuff and is worth checking out if you haven't already. I also create knitting and crochet videos, but they're a bit all over the place, just like me 😅.
