When we were in Scotland in 2010 for the British Open, we stayed at a hotel outside Dunkeld. I absolutely loved the area and the people. I couldn’t get over the color of their streams- water was the color of root beer due to the peat. I learned later my ancestors came from the Inverness area so maybe that’s why I felt so at home. I hope to return one day. You live in a beautiful country.

This was a lovely, relaxing video. Those cows are soo cute! The waterfall was gorgeous, and the donuts looked delicious. I used to work in a bakery as their donut fryer. Those style donuts are batter donuts and they are my absolute favorite. I love the dense cakeyness of them. Donuts similar to krispy creme are actually made with a dough instead of a batter, which is why they aren't as dense.

I went on a couple of driving holidays around Scotland in my twenties with my future husband. Up the east coast and back down the west coast (one lane roads). I also had the ambition of stroking a highland cow, but we didn't see one all the way round until we were almost back to Dunoon and there was one!! Could have saved myself the trip just by driving up the road. There were so many streams like this one... made me want to get out my easel... although I never really got used to the lighting in Scotland (I'm from Australia) the colours are so subdued and a little washed out in comparison. It's a long time since I've been back, but I can still remember how wonderful the air smelled.

It's a stunning part of the world! My favourite places in Scotland are Loch Morlich and also Glen Feshie. It's a lovely drive up past Dunkeld and we always have to stop in at the House of Bruar for a pie and a look around.
