Hi Mr Gunn! It's Lara here, these cartoons were my favourite part of the Cold War course. I think my favourite was the Cuban Missile Crisis one! Thank you for your enthusiasm for the course, it really helped me get a good GCSE grade at the end! The teacher you get really makes a difference for enjoying the subject.

Hi Mr Gunn this is a cool video but I have a question about Stuart Britian which I'm struggling with... Charles I and his opponents failure to find compromise in the years 1640-46? What factors or evidence is effective to use for good marks? And section B talked about Poor laws during Charles II? How do you put that in a paragraph? Thank you

Hi, have a look at p.6 of this document for the first question; mrgunnhistory.files.wordpress.com/2023/03/british-paper-easter-revision-pack.pdf - perhaps Charles, parliament and military would work. For the second question, if it is on Poor Laws generally, you could do a paragraph on the Elizabethan Poor Laws (which were still in place for most of this period), Charles I policy of thorough and then the Settlement Act of 1662. If it was solely on the Poor Laws during CII's reign then it would have to be on the Settlement Act. That seems really narrow but perhaps, causes, details and consequences/impact could work. I hope that helps.

@@mrgunnhistory THANK YOU SO MUCH 💕😁this is really really helpful. The questions I'm planning are really narrow based on the January Mock

@@mrgunnhistory oh wait for the first question most of the evidence goes beyond 1646?

There is some other relevant evidence on the previous page too. For a question as narrow as 40-46 where the main factors really are just CI and Parliament, you could potentially do 1)actions of Charles in the run up to war, 2) actions of Parliament in the run up to war 3) issues during and after the war. It is a tricky one but there is probably just enough to go on. I hope that helps.

Is it the Paper 1 Section C interpretations you want? I have done a video on technique but could potentially do a walk through video on that type of essay if that's what you mean. Here is the general technique video which should hopefully be helpful; kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWKploSuiJKlhq8

@@mrgunnhistory sorry i just saw this! yes thats correct paper 1 section c. Just really struggling with getting clarity on how the interpretation question should look and having a solid example to refer from would be the most helpful thing in the world. Thank you generally too for all your work on this channel, seems you really have a passion for the subject and for the link ill check that out!

@@tillygrace63 Thanks for the positive feedback, I'm pleased the channel has been helpful. I may have some time in the next two weeks so will aim to do a walkthrough of a Level 5 interpretations essay. Thanks for the suggestion!
