I love Guitar Pro 7.5 for a lot of reasons. In particular, as a practice tool, I love that if I am having trouble getting a phrase under my fingers, I can loop it and slow it down. If I can't play it then, I'll slow it down again... and again and again until I get it slow enough that I can play along with it. Once I have it in my head and under my fingers, I simply increase the speed incrementally until I can play it at full speed. One feature I wish the developers would add would be the ability to import a tempo map as a midi file. Often I have a note-for-note transcription of a song from the original arranger/artist but the tempo is not the same as a recording made by that artist/arranger. The ability to import a tempo map (from Melodyne) would be brilliant (as the Brits say) in this case.

I am ready to move from struggling writing lines or music on paper to accurately documenting jazz lines, songs on sheet music and being able practice with the music hearing it, making changes etc. Making sure I am consistent with the timing. I am assuming playing backing tracks to practice over should be very easy to do. What is the big plus or advantage for this software compared to some of the larger, well known free software programs like Muscscore? Can Lyrics be incorporated into final sheet music products? @DarrylSyms2 жыл бұрын
A midi keyboard? Absolutely not, a regular qwerty keyboard is what I use. Of course you can’t just plug your guitar in and it magically knows what you’re playing, but you can purchase “midi guitars” or something similar which will indeed input notes directly from guitar to program. But then I’m not sure GPX can “live record” 🤷♂️ You’d have to ask them 👍

you're right about some free tabs not being accurate. they're made to have deliberate mistakes to avoid paying copyright royalties. that's why it's best to get tabs from guitar pro's mysongbook.com where they have a professional transcriber team and it is 100% legal and royalties are paid to the artists. it costs $3 USD/month but they are accurate and complete. it's definitely worth it.
@DarrylSyms4 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily, most tabs you’ll find on UltimateGuitar are not very accurate because they’re tabbed by novice guitar players. Most people don’t have the patience, ear, and attention to detail to pull transcribing off accurately. Though I don’t blame them as such because they don’t get paid for it 💁♂️ my songbook is cool though ✌️ Not that I’ve tried it, but I’ve heard good things about it!
@cassidymchugh82874 жыл бұрын
Darryl Syms yes true that’s obviously a big part of it but copyright is also a factor. The owners of Ultimate guitar got sued or almost got sued years ago because they weren’t paying artists royalties. But obviously novice guitarists are the more prominent reason these days
