Always the most fun video of the year to film! Can't wait to see what books 2023 will bring. And would love to hear if any of my faves were on your list too! ❤ Later this week a video to celebrate the release of Shadow and Bone Season 2 will be coming your way (and then I'll shut up about the series for a while, I promise 😅). - Sanne

I love my Kobo! I also avoid Amazon so I was so happy to find a great alternative

Glad to hear you enjoyed the Grisha-verse. This may be the sign I need to finally read King of Scars and Rule of Wolves because I LOVE Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom but then I never continued! I agree Shadow and Bone is fine… looking forward to your video about the whole experience!

I think lots of people have done the exact same thing, haha!

How happy I am when a new video of yours shows up on my TL! Myself I read 100 books in 2022 my highest reading volume ever.

Yeeesss, I also loved Lex's books and the Anthropocene Reviewed (do NOT read that on public transport because you WILL cry!). I'll suggest the Wives under the Sea for my book club cause you made it sound so great. And I also want to read more Emily St John Mandel because I loved station eleven. Very exciting for GWART this year! ^^

I read Sea of Tranquility as a stand alone and had no idea it was connected to her other books. Will def read Station Eleven now that I know! Thanks 🙏Oh and my favorite book that I read in 2022 was Educated, by Tara Westover. So powerful…

Ahh yes absolutely loved Educated and was definitely a top read of that year! Hope you enjoy Station Eleven.

This made me want to dive back into the Grishaverse. I stopped after the Shadow and Bones trilogy, but now I want to pick up Six of Crows... I'm also a huge Station Eleven fan so I'll make sure to check out the author's other books, along with that John Green's collection of essays! So many good recs! Thank you ✨️

I don't think you'll be disappointed by Six of Crows, I loved it much more than the original trilogy!

@@booksandquills I'm definetely adding it to my summer TBR pile then! Right now I'm a bit busy, as I'm finally working toward my dream of getting a degree in English literature, a dream you helped spark and fuel throughout the years 🥰

I've really wanted to try John Green's non fiction!

I'm interested to hear more about linking your Kobo with your library account - sounds like a dream! Can you borrow books via Libby and send them to your Kobo? (I think in the US you can connect your library account to your Kindle, but no such luck in the UK...)
@booksandquills Жыл бұрын
I’m signed up with BorrowBox and then go to the BorrowBox website to download the ebook files. Then you use Adobe editions to load the ebook files into the plugged in Kobo (on your laptop). So a bit of a hassle to figure out, but once you’ve got it set up it’s pretty quick! Not sure about Libby but they should have a little guide somewhere if it is possible.

I’ve not used WiFi on my KoBo yet so but sure if that would speed the process up haha!

Hi Sanne, what is your MBTI type?

I hate Kobo, my Kindle is just so much better. My son got a Kobo for present and he doesn't read in English. I can buy nothing for him!
@booksandquills Жыл бұрын
It's definitely worth checking out your options if you read in another language, but I just looked and for example if you want to buy books in Dutch you might just need to buy them from another outlet and then load them onto your Kobo. Worth trying out if you can make it work that way.

@@booksandquills yeah, that's what I ended up going, but so much more fussing, transfer by cord... Emailing is so much easier. Anyway, glad he has his reader, beacause we've ended up(unwillingly) 'traveling' so much and he's not able to check books out of the Library or buy hard copies. And I love him reading a lot.
