My Favourite Scene in Every DEATH BATTLE Animation

Imagine recording this entire thing in two sittings and then discovering that every segment from Thor vs Wonder Woman to Shadow vs Ryuko has this really loud grainy background noise that appears and disappears as it pleases with no rhyme or reason and having to re-record all 60 segments. For DIO vs Alucard, I was initially going to go with either "I want to rule THE WORLD" or "Bow to your new God". However, I think the one that really does it for me is the "It was I... DIO?". It does a great job at demonstrating DIO's arrogant attitude in him thinking that he already won, which then turns into confusion and further transitions into fear as we get a face shot of a terrified DIO getting a glimpse of Alucard using Level 1, which sells the horror aspect of Alucard so well. On top of the fact that it is an actually clever use of a Jojo meme just make this moment peak Death Battle for me.

For Machamp I really liked the Guts ability. It makes sense and comes about naturally. It looks cool and leads to a cool adrenaline look. For Sweet Tooth, was Joker’s one line of “The best kind of joke…is the one you don’t see coming!” For Doomsday, him yelling “Doom!” When he kills Hulk so Hulk knows who beat him and that he is the last thing Hulk hears before he dies. Green Lantern I liked obviously that line, but the Omnitrix transforming him to Gray Matter both is canonical to the show (chooses for him) and shows he needed to think smart. He was outstrengthed so he needed to be smart. Optimus “I’ve battled for countless eons.” The “There you are!” Was pretty good in that fight that showed him really using his powers, or “I’m just better.” Venom vs Bane had the trying to be invisible line, or unbreakable line. Both are cool, canon and make sense. Beerus “So you’ve chosen death.” Sonic v Flash: The punch through the lives looked super trippy and cool. The Broly line/Hulk mixup and call back like you said were awesome. Lex v Doom yeah, the Superman line and fight. Star v Steven, that is a good moment. What makes Saitama’s line better is he’s never like that. They nailed his true reaction with no reference

Here are some more favourite moments of mine: -Ultron vs Sigma: Seeing Ultron embracing his victory like a happy child who just beat up the school bully in front of the whole school cafetéria is so in character for him and the mere implication that during the whole fight Ultron was having the time of his life make this one of my favourite moments in all of Death Battle. -Madara vs Aizen: Seeing the two combatants laughing together and having the time of their lives will never not be phenomenal. -Batman vs Ironman: Either the fantastic setup where Tony's and Bruce's personalities and tactics bounce each other flawlessly or the sequence where the Hellbat fills the entire area they were fighting with bats, thus manipulating the environment to his advantage, and using speed and stealth overcame Ironman's numbers advantage by sneak attacking all the suits and making them hit each other. -Goku Black vs Reverse Flash: The "Why aren't you dead?!?" scene is hilarious, perfectly fitting to both characters and the best meme to come out of that episode. -Snake vs Sam: "You're pretty good." That's how you give someone the fucking chills, man. -Korra vs Storm: (technically you included it, but it was only a small part of that sequence, so I'm includong the whole scene) The entire sequence where Storm faces the insanity of the Spirit Wirld is incredible. The hand-drawn stuff are gorgious, the atmosphere is eerie and other-wordly, tge usage of the environment was fantastic, you get to feel Storm's confusion, seeing previous dead combatants was a fantastic callback to the show's history, the character moment of Storm being on her knees while the circle of sanity around her became smaller and smaller is both visually stunning and shows perfectly Storm's willpower, as she recalls the names of her teammates to manage to get up and keep on fighting. Seeing character development and powerfuk character moments on Death Battle is always a treat. Heck, even the cabbage man running gag gets a nice closure in this scene. And of course, let's not forget the Nemesis Bloodryche cameo. Seeing Death Battle acknowledge and embrace its fanbase in such a way is beyond wholesome and the fact that the Death Battle animator who animated that cameo did this as a friendly gesture to Nemesis makes this scene even better and shows how much love, care and passion goes into the making of each episode. -Deadpool vs the Mask: Seeing Deadpool realise how much he has fallen and how low people look at him and then choosing to take out his gun and his sword and take on the Mask, not as a joke, but as a real fighter, and then fighting the Mask with everything he's got (with his hits synchronising to the track btw), only for the Mask to just shrug off everything up to the part where Deadpool's last wirds are not something quirky, but just a cold "Fuck you.", hits right in the feels. The metaphor of Deadpool looking at the Mask through a broken mirror, the image of Deadpool going up against the false idea that so many people have for him by fighting the living embodiment of that false idea in tge form of the exaggerated and over-the-top Mask with just basic weapons, the last-minute ingenious failsafe Deadpool makes with the Continuity Stone, the character development Deadpool received after his years at the show and the flawless delivery of every single line...man, this is peak Death Battle. And then, a bald man started talking to himself on a moon with a smile on his face and now this moment has competition. -Goro vs Machamp: The Machamp dub. In the depths of our hearts we all love it. Either that or the the "I am the champion of Mortal Kombat!" "Machamp." exchange. -Batgirl vs Spider-Gwen: I was gping to originally pick the Spiderman 2002 reference, buuuut I instead pick a 5-second portion of hand-to-electric-baton combat, where we have good and fast animation...and good choreography...and Spider-Gwen not getting smacked around like a bitch. -Wonder Woman vs She-Ra: Wonder Woman throwing a column at She-Ra with a little effort and strategy and She-Ra effortlessly throwing it back as Wonder Woman dodges it. I like this sequence. It higglights their strengths and weaknesses in comparison to each other, with She-Ra having the superior strength and Wonder Woman being faster, more agile and more resourceful and tactical. -Thanos vs Darkseid: The sequence where a) Thanos makes a funny face after getting smacked with a taxi, b) Darkseid throws the Thanoscopter at Thanos and c) Darkseid completely ignores a building hitting him from behind is great and starts giving us a taste of what both combatants (especially Darkseid) are capable of. -Batman vs Black Panther: Yeah, hot take, I like the sequence where they fight the zoo animals. Batman gets to use more of his gadgets and I just love free-for-all fights. -Bane vs Venom: Yeah, Bane's speech about Venom not being truly invisible was actually kinda cool. -Lex vs Doom: The entire climax, from Lex starting smacking around Doom with the Everyman Protocol to Doom switching their minds and taking the upper hand. This highlights the differences in their characters, as Lex tries fighting like Superman without truly understanding him (thus, he ends up fighting like a brute), while Doom has fully embraced who he is and uses his cunning and abilities to turn the fight to his favor. At the end of the day, Lex became, in more ways than one, his own downfall. Also, the line "This mask is who I am!" is chilling and glorious. -Black Canary vs Sindel: I kinda like the "So, are ring-outs a thing?" exchange. -Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie: The ending, where Deadpool revealed that it was his birthday, was pretty funny. Why is everyone holding torches and pitchforks all of a sudden? -Ben 10 vs Green Lantern: Alien X joining the fight is based. So is the delivery of Alien X's first line. And the finger flick as well. -Terminator vs Robocop: The setup is still hilarious. John Talbain vs Sabrewulf: (again, you included a portion of that scene, so I am including it all) The cemetery smackdown. Seeing both of them fighting as wild beasts was epic, John getting his guts ripped apart and getting strangled with them was hardcore, the scene was colored like a real fucking horror movie and the way the red moon impacted the fight was pretty creative. John started losing the fight as a beast, took the upper hand thanks to him having better control of his rage and ultimately, him getting taken over by his rage was a good way to have a cool finisher without the risk of John's character getting killed alongside his opponent.

'I suppose it can't be helped' from Sephiroth Vs Vergil is a cool moment with him revealing his one wing and creating his illusion clones, but the line itself is really funny due to me quoting it when I lose in Smash Bros. Kiryu jumping over Dragonzord's tail, Gandorf's screams of pain when being roasted by Dracula, Esdeth's Mahaptama shout and Po's sudden Golden Lotus clap are also stellar.

A part of Dragonzord vs Mechagodzilla I really like is close to Biff Weed's. It's when MechaG has just taken control after Akane died. It's shows him from the Dragonzord's perspective, stalking up to it with a predatory glare. It really contrasts the cautious, long range approach Akane had been using, and let's us know what we're in for now that the mind of a proper kaiju has taken the wheel.

I know an update might not happen, but here are my favorite shots of Season 9. Mine: Harley vs. Jinx: The Joker Venom scene or the Roller Coaster scene. Wanda vs. Zatanna: The Superman punch on Scarlet Witch. Tanjiro vs. Jonathan: The Sunlight Yellow Overdrive. Or... Metal Silver Overdrive with the vocal energy. Thor vs. Vegeta: The Final Flash or the raw hand-drawn shot of Thor. Omni-Man vs. Homelander: The setup you re-watched over 20 times. Magneto vs. Tetsuo: The Ego Collapse transformation. Hercules vs. Wukong: Huh. Multiple heads. Of course. Fett vs. Predator: Fett losing his arm and then cauterizing the wound with the Lightsaber. Bond vs. Wick: The knife fight while the Aston Martin DB5 goes haywire in the background. Black Adam vs. Apocalypse: This didn't KILL Adam, I like Apocalypse stepping in loser. Way better than THAT one. If not, the silhouette of Giant Apocalypse close to the moon. Trunks vs. Silver: Xeno Trunks' Gacha pull luck. (I'm a Fire Emblem Heroes player, so I would know that pain) SpongeBob vs. Aquaman: What do I choose? There's too many options. Maybe the motivational speech with the names of Goofball, Wingnut, and Knucklehead McSpazatron. Jason vs. Michael: The setup is the closest thing I could think about. Sauron vs. Lich King: Either the volcano eruption or the raw shot of Frostmourne shattering with the short frames with the Eye of Sauron. Deku vs. Asta: I like the vocal delivery of 1,000,000% Plus Ultra. Gogeta vs. Vegito: The Bluff Kamehameha. Or the fist bump respect in the end. This is what I think are stand out of the most in Season 9 besides the kills (mostly).

Just for kicks, here are some stand-out analysis moments as well: -Megaman Battle Royale: The Megaman Legends Boomstick rant. Obviously this was my choice from this episode for obvious reasons, but something else I liked was how it was used to tie together Volnutt's and EXE's analysis segments. Speaking of tying well different segments of the episode,... -Deadpool vs the Mask: Deadpool's speech. This beautiful speech not only gave an emotional closure to Deadpool's, Wiz's and Boomstick's character development in regards to their rivalry, but it also was a great deconstruction of Deadpool as a character and a good critique of how the Internet treats the character of Deadpool, while also managing to feel like a true love letter to Deadpool's past in Death Battle. Plus, the Continuity Stone plot twist that managed to link together fight animation and analysis was ingenious. -Zuko vs Shoto: Hearing Boomstick saying "Tell him, Deku!" felt so good. Either that or DUMMY smiling. -Ragna vs Sol: The "Is Sol Badguy a bad guy?" debate. It's bloody flawless. -Dragonzord vs Mechagodzilla: The ending to Dragonzord's analysis. That ending feels like a true love letter to Tommy Oliver's journey as a character. Also, ending Dragonzord's analysis with the hope that maybe this is not the end for the Dragonzord's journey feels like a legitimate gift of hope to all Power Rangers fans, especially since the episode came out on the Power Rangers's anniversary. -Aang vs Edward: As someone who's interested in wildlife, seeing Wiz use the bite force of a lion in the analysis caught my interest. (akward silence) Yeah, that's all I had for that episode. -Batman vs Ironman: The ending to Ironman's analysis was amazing and touching, but my pick actually goes to the Hellbat segment. From Boomstick calling the Hellbat "the coolest fucking thing ever" to showing Batman punch Darkseid in the face with the Hellbat, that segment covered literally everything about the Hellbat in flawless fashion. Its origin, its feats, its arsenal, accompanied with some phenomenal editing, and the Hellbat ended up feeling like a true character. Also, ending that segment with Batman resurrecting his own son and then including Batman resurrecting his own son amongst Batman's greatest feats just feels right. -Carnage vs Lucy: The next time. Seeing Optimus Prime, my favourite character in all of fiction, as a combatant in the next episode gave me hype the likes of which few other pieces of media managed to surpass. -Pokemon Battle Royale: The Blastoid origin story. Do I even need to explain why? Once Destroyah vs Iris comes out, I'd like something similar for Iris as well. -Optimus vs Gundam: The opening stated pure raw facts. Giant robots ARE awesome. -Natsu vs Ace: Calling Ace taking a lethal blow for Luffy as Ace's greatest feat,...man, that's some good writing. -Weiss vs Mitsuru: Boomstick's Board of Science. It was perfect. We need more of it (as well as the return of Wiz's Board of Science). -Smokey vs Mc Gruf: Not a specific moment, but the bear puns running gag was legitimately funny and creative, not gonna lie, Wiz. Plus, the little twist at the post-analysis was pretty nice as well. -Macho Man vs Kool-Aid-Man: I have two moments. Boomstick reuniting with his mother was a pretty nice scene and a good way to end Boomstick's arc (at least an aspect of that arc) and I liked the ending joke. Plus, as someone who appreciates lore, seeing Mama Boomstick was nice. There is also a small youtuber called Stormsoflight (his content is great, check it out) who resonated a bit with that scene and that's honestly great. Also, Kool-Aid-Man reviving Macho Man and the two having a bro fist was next level wholesome. -Akuma vs Kahn: Kahn roasting Boomstick was hilarious and somehow I feel that it's 100% in character for Kahn to do something like that. I actually wouldn't mind a few cutaways like this in the future, where a non-fourth-wall-breaking combatant gets to interract with the hosts. -Ben 10 vs Green Lantern: Wiz and Boomstick having a bro fist. I like it when the two of them have moments of legitimate bro-hood. -Madara vs Aizen: Wiz explaining Madara's plan. You could just feel Ben's passion when delivering each and every line and that whole sequence was 10x times funnier and more entertaining because of it. Also, nice continuity with Wiz being the absolute Naruto nerd. -Yoda vs King Mickey: The ending to Yoda's analysis. Man, what an ending. After talking during the analysis for the downfall of the Jedi, the analysis ends with some great editing and with hope getting restored and Yoda training Luke and kickstarting the next generation of Jedi to bring balance to the Force, tying beautifully Prequels, Sequels and Original Trilogy together in a beautiful love letter to a beautiful story about a galaxy far far away.

Here's an interesting idea you an Nem can do that I haven't seen done by anyone: Top 10 Best/Worst Death Battle Analysis. Ranking the best/worst individual analysis; whether they have good jokes like Sol's having one of the best, being really investing like Po's, having one of the best endings like Alucard's, or just being well written like All Might & Might Guy's. This also prevents someone like Reverse Flash from being dragged down by Goku Black's poorly written analysis!

I'm gonna do 2 favourite shots of each season. One for it's animation and the other for the story. I haven't kept up with every episode so I might forget some. Season 1: The clash between Thor and Raiden has some of the biggest impact of the show I swear to god. This season doesn't have many story moments to go off of but the tense clash between Leonardo and Raphael was so impressive for the 5th ever death battle. Season 2: Jack the Ripper vs Beserker Wolverine is so entertaining every time, especially the final barage and the sound design when they finish It's impossible for me to not pick "I've been playing human" Season 3: Ratchet sucking up Daxter with the Suck Cannon and shooting him back at Jak was the one interaction I really wanted to see in my favourite matchup, and it did not disappoint. Joker's dialogue to get Sweet Tooth up close draws me in every time. Season 4: I like the starting scene of Smokey Bear vs Mcgruff the Crime Dog just because it confirms Hand Drawn animations are on the table Again, I'm a monster if I don't at least consider "I ain't done!" Season 5: Crash's slide jump. It looks so accurate to the games and shares the same satisfying feeling when pulling it off. I love that Jack loses him arm after the one stroke duel. Season 6: Fuck off Ganondorf's Warlock Punch was amazing. Despite not giving a shit about Kaiju battles, Godzilla entering Kiryu's shut down body then stomping the everlasting shit on Dragonzord is incredibly satifying. Season 7: Some of my favourite scenes in Death Battle are the more down to earth and simple moments, like Sonic rapidly tapping his feet impatiently. i am the impossible Season 8: I feel like I'm the only one who's a big fan of Link readying his Skyward Strike. The pose is spot on the lightning effects are great, and the sound design is something else. Saitama finally finding a worthy fight is my favourite scene in all of Death Battle despite being the most recent episode at this comment's posting. It's practically flawless.

Season 10 complete list of favorite moments: Ant-Man vs. Atom: Raymond squishing the ants. Chosen Undead vs. Dragonborn: 'Prepare to die.' That is bone-chilling and I love it. Killua vs. Misaka: The Iron Sand Kaiju. It looks incredible. Stitch vs. Rocket: Rocket summoning a bigger gun over Stitch's vulgar language. Vader vs. Obito: The Infinite Tsukuyomi. Or Obito noticing that Vader also lost his humanity. Phoenix vs. Raven: The Phoenix Force hand-drawn shot. Guts vs. Dimitri: Both losing their sanity simultaneously. Manhunter vs. Surfer: Either the Film Noir setup or the Dragon Martian Manhunter slicing the moon. Bill vs. Discord: Bill and Discord fighting inside of Bill's mind. I liked that Kiryu scene as well and took it the same way, it really seemed like Godzilla came out solely because the Dragonzord roared and the fact that Kiryu was now fighting far more aggressively really showed this was a different person in control. Deadpool's dance fighting not only is a good way to show his goofier, I guess 4th wall breaking side but the fact that this actually seems like it throws Deathstroke off and Deadpool is actually doing better at hand to hand is great. Trish and Jaun showing up in Dante vs Bayonetta was just a cool addition to an already cool fight. I liked the start of Lucy vs Carnage for the atmosphere because it feels like a horror movie which really shows how horrifying Carnage would actually be in real life and with that, then Carnage trying to kill Nyu, just for Lucy to emerge and grab him and he's confused is a good scene. Carnage would definitely be that horrifying but Lucy would have nothing to fear from him at this point because she hasn't seen all he can do so I could see her just gaining control and going "Guess I have another asshole to kill." Not sure if this breaks the 'no death' rule, I guess it doesn't since its before the death even if its the lead up but the end of Gamera vs Godzilla where Gamera is resting after he thinks he killed Godzilla, only for Godzilla to appear behind him, looking FAR bigger than he did previously is a good way to make him look imposing and to just show how screwed Gamera is because his strongest attack failed and Godzilla is no worse for wear. I guess this counts since its after the death but as a kid, me and my friend loved the ending of Spider-Man vs Batman where after the death, Spider-Man does a quip and just swings off going "Web Swing!". I remember my friend quoting that a lot. I honestly found Chuck Norris' "You come back in here, I'm going to give you so many rights you'll be begging for a left" line really funny in Chuck vs Segata. Honestly while its dumb that all the Megamen get teleported to the building at once for no reason, the fact that the opening is shot like its a classic Megaman opening only for it to be Volenutt instead is a neat callback. I like how they implemented Jack's ability to fight while blinded into his fight as not only is that a good trading of abilities (Afro fighting dirty only for Jack to use his senses to keep fighting) but its also a cool callback to a really cool Samurai Jack episode.

Carnage vs Lucy's opening was definitely a solid contender, the bit of the track in the scene I went with tho pushed it ever so slightly higher. For Godzilla vs Gamera I was worried that shot was too close to just being part of the kill so I never went for it, but it is my favourite part of the fight overall. With Chuck vs Segata and the MMBR I'd honestly consider those shots some of my least favourites in them. Chuck's line is way too quiet and hard to hear what he's saying, and the MMBR having basically nothing to set the fight up is a little disappointing

dont wanna get into contraversy on something i don't know that well, but as far as i know in comics jason todd responds in a non-typical way to his trauma. when the joker was tied up and making jokes about how he killed jason, describing it to batgirl he uncontrollably shoots joker in the head. again im not an expert but i think we can give that scene a pass cus its how jason would likely act in that situation.

i have to say the best shot of She-Ra vs Wonder Woman was the moment before She-Ra is beheaded. the shot where she summons her sword to block She-Ra's and then tilts the blade to reveal her eyes was breathtaking then and still is now.

I'm just gonna disagree on one of them: Link vs Cloud 2, the best shot is 4 swords Link's reveal. In an animation where they just get so creative with everything Link could POSSIBLY do, they have a brilliant moment where Link is utterly put on his back heel having lost his most iconic weapon and Cloud slamming him. He then pulls out something that just catches Cloud by surprise and they do it from an angle that works as a great reveal. The other Links just cheekily tapping Cloud's sword together is the icing on the cake.

Fun fact, the whole Wario being gross thing isn't Smash exclusive. It's actually a major part of his character for the Wario Land games... _In Japan..._ Yeah, outside Japan, they played up Wario's greedy nature more (which is easily seen more in the gameplay) but in Japan he's more gross.

Stitch vs. Rocket: Stitch insulting Rocket's mother or Rocket summoning a bigger gun in retaliation to Stitch's Tantalog profanity. Vader vs. Obito: The Infinite Tsukuyomi. If I don't count the death, then Obito noticing that Vader also lost his humanity, and the epic showing of the Ten-Tails. Phoenix vs. Raven: The hand-drawn shot of the Phoenix Force, obviously. Guts vs. Dimitri: 'I promise... I'll kill them!' 'ALL of them! 'DOWN TO THE LAST ONE!!!' Manhunter vs. Surfer: The Film Noir setup. Also if you are keen-eyed enough, then you'll notice Wanda vs. Zatanna and Ant-Man vs. Raymond screenshots, wallpapers with Bill Cipher and Discord, and Space Hawaii with Macho Man vs. Kool-Aid Man, like in Stitch vs. Rocket. I'll return once Season 10 properly ends, just like I did with Season 9.
