Solstice Power gave more spin hands down, although for me it was the most noticeable on slices simply because I've never gotten them to stay so low and skid as much as they did with Solstice Power.

@@11sweetspot11 Wow, that's amazing, what about stiffness, can Solstice Power be used in a full bed without any harshness?
@11sweetspot11 Жыл бұрын
That really depends on your arm because everyone is different in what they deem 'harsh'. For comparison, on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the harshest, TourBite would be 9.5 and Solstice Power would be 7. On the surface I would say Solstice Power is harsh since it is a control-oriented poly, but it's really in the follow through that you notice the comfort. When you take a full swing the string has more give/elasticity in it than TourBite does. Is it enough elasticity for you? You'd just have to try to find out. My goal in giving my "baguette" analogy was to describe it as best as I could so you could make an informed decision about trying Solstice Power. My personal preference would be a string that would be a 5 on my harshness scale; YTEX's ProTour Blue is a good example of that. Its not a spin monster but it gives excellent spin for what it is (round poly).

@@11sweetspot11 I generally hybrid most poly strings with natural gut in the mains, due to a sensitive wrist but I may give Solstice Power a try in a full bed strung in the low 40's and see how it feels, thanks for the info!

Ya I think that’s a fantastic point for anyone to start, especially if you play with gut and have wrist issues! Let me know how it turns out, I’d love to know since I can imagine myself playing with such a setup too.

How soft it is compared to Ytex QT?
@11sweetspot114 ай бұрын
They’re in the same realm tbh, the difference is the ball bite. Because Solstice Power is so sharp it grabs the ball a lot more. I noticed it especially on slices.

@@11sweetspot11 durability wise? Ytex QT have a good durability
@11sweetspot114 ай бұрын
QT is more durable for me hands down. It does not notch and cut through itself as aggressively as SP. Where I really notice it is in spin generation. SP will give a lot of spin for shorter duration whereas QT will give me a little less spin for a longer duration. How much this makes a difference for you is really down to your style of play. For me it doesn’t matter as much, I just don’t prefer super sharp strings which is why I like QT better.
