Hi Peter Thank you for another fine video. I have used STIHL for nearly 30 years - they very seldom fail. Festool level quality 👍😁

That is an excellent comparison - both Festool and Stihl produce high quality products, well thought out designs and great customer service. Cheers. Peter

Hi Peter. Another great video, thanks. If you have the autocut 6-2, the arrows show the direction you twist when loading the strimmer line. It's probably the easiest loading strimmer I've ever used. You don't need to take it apart. Line up the markers with the holes and feed the line through the middle. Leave about 1m each side and wind in the direction of the arrows you mentioned. Job done

I will take a look at that. Cheers. Peter

Hello Peter, guess it’s Stihl a nice piece of kit. Long lasting, well made and worth the price👍. Like you say it is about the batteries.

I have used Stihl garden machinery for many years and have always been very happy with the build quality and performance. However, I find the auto line feed on my strimmer a bit temperamental if I am not careful with reloading the spool. The line has a tendency to bind to itself if wound too tightly and not feed out. Also, the ferrules through which the line emerges seem to develop sharp edges after 2-3 uses and will cut the line unless regularly smoothed off with small rat tail file. As always, many thanks for your informative videos.

I will keep an eye on that and report any problems. Peter

Thx for sharing Peter. Like the variable speed trigger on this unit as sometimes it’s useful to go a little more gently in some areas. The battery sharing & purchase if bare machines keeps things a little more cost effective whilst being very versatile/flexible. Cheers 👍

I've owned a corded Stihl hedge trimmer for many years and it has been excellent. When we relocated to Devon we needed a brush cutter as well as a more robust chainsaw. The cord was never going to reach to where it needed to go and there was far too much for battery usage. In the end I went with Husky petrol driven equipment and find it equally as good. If our needs were less industrial I would definitely have looked at battery powered devices and I think that they are an excellent addition to any reasonable sized garden (Stihl or Husky). I did skip through to the usage section and may have missed it but, can you buy a harness to clip the Stihl onto your body? I have that for the husky. It's beautifully counterbalanced and allows me to use the brush cutter for hours on end without arm fatigue and, obviously, it makes the tool more controllable.

Hi Ian, I went from having 2 chainsaws, professional brushcutters, hedge trimmer and two leaf blowers - all petrol but now manage perfectly well with my range of Stihl AK kit. Battery power is not an issue as I have two batteries so, at worst, one can be on charge whilst the other is in use. Also, these tools do the job. The only exception is that I still have my back-pack petrol leaf blower for the autumn. The AK battery blower gets used a lot during the rest of the year and is so quick and easy to use. Cheers. Peter

I read Stone Message quite a few years ago. It’s a decent read with a decent plot, especially for uk fiction. At the time, I was reading the Andy McNab series of fast paced violent thrillers. I got all the way to the end of Stone Message still expecting a Big Scene, on a par with the coliseum scene in The Way of the Dragon, at the start of every new chapter. 😅

Hi Peter, Looks a decent garden strimmer and Stihl are a good make, and as you say stick to a brand that uses the same battery so that it's interchangeable one in use and one on charge, is this a light tool to use. As always a great video Take care

Hi Shaun, I am not as agile as I used to be and suffer from arthritis but never mind that - yes, I can use all of my Stihl cordless (AK range) tools with no problem at all. Cheers. Peter
