The fact that there is already an excessive amount of demand awaiting its absorption, despite how everyone is frightened and calling the crash, is another reason why it is less likely to occur that way. 2008 saw no one, at least not the broad public, making this forecast, as I'll explain below. The ownership rate was noted to have peaked in 2004 in the other comment. Having previously peaked in the second quarter of 2020, we are currently at the median level. Between 2008 and 2012, it dropped by 3%, and by the second quarter of 2020, it had dropped from 68 to 65.

After working at gas stations for few years, I bought my first property at the age of 19. I planned out everything. I thought I was going to be a millionaire soon. The following year (in 2007), the real estate got crashed and crushed me. 😂🤯 my property value went from 140k to 40k. While most of the people went through foreclosures, I managed to keep it by renting out my other room and then when it got so bad, I ended up renting out my living room too. $hit happens but the show must go on. In 2013 I bought another small property. Then in 2016, I bought another property. I only have a 2 year college degree. One of my goals were to take a mini retirement vacation. So I took two years off completely from work. Now I’m back to work. Am I rich? Hell no. Lol … but I enjoyed my life journey.

Money is just the transfer of “value.” I don’t fully associate money with time because you’ll never get said time back that you exchanged for money. However, you can exchange that money for experiences, food, clothes, and to help others (happiness/fulfillment.) So money can unlock freedom and doors to your point, but money really is just a form to capture value (and in terms of a job it’s the salary that quantifies your skills & experiences) so saving that value and growing it long term makes sense but you can’t discount the fact that you’re foregoing current / short term experiences in the process. Which is invaluable and really dependent on your financial / personal goals in life.
@madman38913 жыл бұрын
"I don’t fully associate money with time because you’ll never get said time back that you exchanged for money." Well its a far more efficient use of your time then attempting to produce everything yourself. " you can’t discount the fact that you’re foregoing current / short term experiences in the process" That's obvious but I don't see why that's important, in a sense you trade time for time which is necessary for average living comfort. Unless you plan on living as a monk with no connection to civilization.

I'm not sure how to say I've saved, because all of mine aren't completely liquid. So it's hard to know if that's technically "saved" or just "invested". If we don't care about differentiating, then I'd say it took me slightly over 2 years to go from 8k to 100k. Debt was the only thing slowing me down, but I was able to pay that down and imvest/save at the same time. I'm REALLY hungry and motivated and believe/hope that I can be at my first million in 7 years from now.
@stephgonzalesc3 жыл бұрын
Wow, how did you do it so fast?!
@myfinancialclimb31213 жыл бұрын
@@stephgonzalesc Well, there are several contributing factors. The biggest one is probably savings rate though. My salary during the time, on average, has been around 59k, which is right around the average US income. However, my spending has only been around 23k a year. Very lean. So, I've saved very aggressively, as much as I can. I've contributed to my job's Roth 401k and just started maxing it out 8 months ago. They give me 5% when I put in 10%. That helps. I opened a Roth IRA towards the end of last year, maxed it out and have already maxed it out for this year. Crypto has played a small roll as well, but it's not like I had added a ton or took some crazy risk on some new coin. I only put in 5,500 total into a mix of ETH and XLM. I've made a 250% return on that so far. And lastly, I've busted my butt with my side hustle. I've been doing it for a little over 2 years now, but I STILL haven't paid myself yet. All money is being invested back into it, so my growrh can be aggressive. Next month I calculated I should probably be able to start paying myself 2,500 a month through it, which will start to put me over that 100k edge in just over that 2 year mark from when I started saving aggressively. This was rather long, but I hope this answer satisfied you. I'm personally trying to document my growth here on KZbin, to show people how I'm doing it, along the way. I'm not very good with my scheduling (😅), but I wanted to get a start last year, because I feel like it will be more interesting to show me when I first started out. It wouldn't be as interesting, I feel, if in 6-8 years or so, I start documenting, but I'm already at that 1 million mark, with no real context or body behind it.

Take what your current paycheck is, subtract a significant (but reasonable) amount, like say $200-500, and force yourself to live off your "new" paycheck. Then with my extra money I feel more tempted to spend money on things because I waited so long to get paid and the idea of doing nothing but sitting in my home just to wait two more weeks to get paid to then pay my bills then sit at home and do nothing.. and have that repeat forever doesn’t sound as appealing. If anyone has suggestions I’m really open for it because I do truly want to be better at spending/saving money

Try getting paid once a month, that's the norm in the UK. Best advice I have is find things that occupy your time that either make you more money (sidehustles or learning to get you a promotion at work) or don't cost you much money. For example I work 5 days a week and then in the evenings I spend most of my time in my home gym then cook and maybe play a video game and the day is done. Repeat x5 and then you can do more what you want at the weekend but keep on top of spending. Depends what you like to do, I enjoy walking, exercise and visiting friends and family (all pretty inexpensive).

By being knowledgeable about money and investing, individuals can make informed decisions about how to save, spend, and inveest their money. I know someone who made over $350k in this recession influenced market, but to the best of my knowledge, it was through a financiial advisr.

@@gagnepaingilly Yeah, financiial advisors could make a lot of difference, particularly in a market such as this. Stocks are pretty unstable at the moment, but if you do the right math, you should be just fine. Bloomberg and other finance media have been recording cases of folks gaining over 250k just in a matter of weeks/couple months, so I think there are a lot of wealth transfer in this downtime if you know where to look. I have been using an FA since 2019, and I return at least $21k ROI, and this does not include capital gain.

@@baileymclean8186 Is there any chance you could recommend who you work with? I've wanted to make this switch for a very long time now, but I've been very hesitant about. I'll appreciate any recommendation.

@@svengrot7943 I really don't like making such recommendations, because everybody's situation is unique. But there are many freelance wealth managers you could check out. I have been working with "JILL MARIE CARROLL" for about four years now, and she's really, really good. If she meets your discretion, then you could go ahead with her. I endorse her.

Wow, lightbulb moment. I always look at the number when we would be financial independent and it’s so daunting. I’m going to break it up so it’s more manageable. 10k in investment accounts, here we come!

You're my new favorite youttube creator, I align so much with your attitude towards wealth and money. Coming from a family with very negative relationships with money, I needed to re educate myself and you're helping with that!!! Also the filmmaking quality of your videos is top notch

My first $100,000 was easy. I did that in only 3 years. The first million was way harder, which took me 24 years.

A beautiful man with a beautiful voice in a beautiful apartment. Such positive energy in this video. I have to take time off sometimes (like the past 3 months) from financetube as I get too frustrated! Not watching my money too carefully and just checking in on it every so often is the best way for me too!

Great video. To contrast, I was pretty thrilled to hit six figures - but the feeling was fleeting. After hitting the first $100k I relaxed a bit and am enjoying life (though I am naturally frugal). Interesting to find this video because now I’m at the nexus of quitting to focus on growing my side hustles into full businesses. Was there a tipping point for you in terms of income or did you just dive in?
