Wow, congrats! Overcoming getting lost and twisting your ankle deserves an extra high five. These are my favorite kinds of videos - great job!

You really did a great job documenting the Mohican. Thanks for the kind words. I heard that you are already planning you upcoming race schedule. Just today, I signed-up the Huff 50k in December and the Indiana 100 next October; it would be rocking' to see you at either of those races. Anyway, excellent video and great job running a very difficult race.

Awesome to see a comment from the race “team”!! Thanks man I had a great time getting to know you. I am looking at trying to go out west in the fall but we shall see. This spring I may try the cruel Jewel down in GA.

Way to go!!! You nailed this one! It’s always a wa-waaaa when you realize you’ve made a wrong turn but you came back with a vengeance!! Great video. Thanks for sharing your experience. If your thinking about another 100, might I suggest No Business 100. It is 1 loop through TN and KY. Gorgeous trails, almost all single track. Very well organized!!

Congrats on crushing your first 100-miler! Sorry to hear about your "extra" miles - you handled it so gracefully! Really like the ongoing narration and your positivity and happiness shines through. Rest up and recover well. I'm gonna go out for my Sunday long run - you've given me fuel!

Really great video!!!! Decided to check it out as I ran at Mohican this past weekend for the first time for a training run. Great trails and area. Wish I had more hills like that up here in northern Ohio. Loved seeing your progression through the 100 and felt that emotion with you at the end. Congrats on the amazing achievement!

Thank you! Any chance you are coming out to race at Mohican in June?

@@UltraDad I'm strongly considering the marathon distance that day. It fits perfectly into my 50k training plan this year. Then hopefully next year I can be out for a longer run.

Congratulations! Glad things worked out after that wrong turn....as as someone who has a running channel I completely get the not wanting to film a lot sometimes...you have to just mentally grind and filming is not always priority. Again, great job!

Have you a 100 mile training video? I'm training for a 52 mile double marathon but would love to do a 100 miler.

Good question. No I have not made one but it’s a great idea. Having only finished 2 of these I feel a little less experienced than some but I’ll try to do at least a tips video soon.

You were reasonably feeling tired and sore after the first 50K. Were you able to get the pain to subside for the last 70 miles (ibuprofen, slowing down, or other strategies), or did you really just gut it out? Congratulations on your finish!
@UltraDad4 жыл бұрын
I definitely took a couple ibuprofen. Towards the end I was hurting pretty good but that’s to be expected! No major injury though.
@dougmoore74244 жыл бұрын
Cool stuff! Thanks for sharing! I think I’ve seen your name mentioned a few times on Seth’s KZbin channel. Am I right? Can you let me know what shoes you wore for your race? I’m looking to get into ultras and have similar trails here in Michigan so I’m guessing you could make a good recommendation for the landscape here. Thanks!
@michelleharnett13514 жыл бұрын
I've been told to avoid ibuprofen as it can mask symptoms that could be more serious. Paracetamol is okay.
@UltraDad4 жыл бұрын
Some do think that. I’ve never had a problem with it. Thanks for commenting!
