Male Fantasy is from her point of view. She says she hates the looks and dialogues in porn, cuz it's all fake, to please men - a male fantasy. The chorus is her struggle to get over her previous relationship, pretending to hate the guy to make it easier. But she ends saying she can't, altho she should. Following Happier Than Ever, where she is MAD, this closes the album with a happier tone. No matter how much you hurt me, I can't hate you.

Also the third verse we’re she mentions the second failed relationship was a friendship that didn’t work out which is why she said “wonder if this is always how I’m gonna feel” saying like this happened to me with my ex bf now my ex best friend too like damn all my relationships are ending “nothing lasts I know the deal” and ends the song saying as much as she wants to forget them n not love these people she can’t help but love them regardless of what happened.

Agree 💯 to everything said. My husband and I first started watching this channel for the Eminem reaction and breakdowns, but have enjoyed ThirdErnest’s other reactions. Also so glad he gave Billie Eilish a chance and became a fan, too. So many people won’t even bother listening to her because of the assumption that she’s just a typical teen pop star. I love this! Thank you for posting! I completely disagree with your interpretation of the last song though. You missed her critique of pornography, how it’s only a male fantasy and completely dissatisfying to watch as a woman. I don’t think it’s anything about being from a male perspective- she’s talking about her effort to get over her ex and how disappointing porn is for us ladies - porn she was trying to distract herself with.

So Billie's Bossa Nova is actually a type of music. Bossa Nova is a sexy, jazzy, Latin music that I heard as a kid in the late 80's in jazz clubs. What I know about the style is that her & Finneas 100% hit the exacting sound, rhythm, and lyrical style while adding in only a few hints of a modern sound to modernize it for today's audiences. I love it. My dad who took me to all those jazz clubs loves her...he got really excited about 2 other artists from MY lifetime of music: No Doubt/Gwen Stefani & Evanescence/Amy Lee. Both vocalists wrote their own lyrics and he equated them to grests from his era of the 60's 70's. Gwen he said reminded him of Janis Joplin with her raw sound (think Tragic Kingdom, Spiderwebs vocalizations to some of Janis's). He didn't have a singular female of his time who was as similar to Amy Lee in depth of lyricism and exceptional vocals but this song is similar or sounds alike for her. With Billie, he was more moved by her "Happier Than Ever" then Silk Sonic's "Leave the Door Open" and my dad's Filipino American.
