I’m not kidding when I say this, I think this is the first time I’ve seen someone’s custom animatronic that is literally on par with the likes of CEI, Creative Presentations, all those companies. Heck this even beats a crud ton of VP’s characters too. I can’t express how pumped I am once the cosmetic parts start happening! And regarding the springs, I’m assuming they were intended to be for some sort of secondary movement like a hip shake or something? I know some characters from varying companies have a little bit of flop in some areas to make them look less stiff

Houndog was pretty on par with his last version on Dave too.

@@Sea_of_Waves thank you, this means a lot. My goal is to make my animatronics as professional as possible, to hopefully turn it into something one day. I have put a ton of work into this figure alone, and I’m happy to finally get to start showing it again. Like you already know from the previous video, so much of the work was all drawing, design, spreadsheets and CAD based for the last few months, so there was nothing to show. Now everything is starting to come together!

With your achievements in engineering. I'm incredibly optimistic about the future for Mattel. Having animatronic action figures one day. Is a goal that I felt would happen by now?
@collegetoycollector13 күн бұрын
@@playdisplay1468 Thank you, that means a lot to hear. This project was partially what got me noticed by someone at Mattel in the first place… a former Disney imagineer. And now I am a part of what I’d consider the most “engineering intensive” brand. I hope to do a lot of great things, both in and out of work. Thanks for watching!

@collegetoycollector I genuinely hope that you are the next generation. That changes action figures.

Under what circumstances would you recommend using servos over pneumatics?
@Siryappington-42113 күн бұрын
depends on the motor strength and the weight of the load but usually like a small servo (ex: 9g) would be good for lightweight plastic or cardboard but it depends in most cases
@collegetoycollector13 күн бұрын
@@ethanfishell1930 a lot of factors: scale, material, precision of movements, application. A life size animatronic character will have movements that need the strength of a linear actuator to work effectively. Servos are good for small movements that need precision, but they are not as strong as linear force.
