Also I couldn't help but looking at your beautiful port de bras which is constantly improving day by day. As a fellow adult (returning) dancer we have to lift each other up and encourage each other to not give up when things may feel tough. Merde to you and your fellow dancers.

@@VeronicaViccora you are very welcome sis. My big goal to improve is my flexibility, it's slowly coming back but when I first returned to ballet it wasn't there and it was eating at me all the time. It's one of those things that you just have to stop and tell yourself "everyone has flaws that they are trying to improve, you aren't the only one". Love to see the holes/raggedy-ness of your ballet flats....you can tell you're actually using your foot/toes! A big wake-up to me was when my ballet teacher commented how fast she went through flats and I thought my shoes last me years! Because I am not good at working through the floor!
@VeronicaViccora5 ай бұрын
to be fair, these shoes were actually my old teachers that she gave to me so I can't take all the credit, they already had some wear and tear. but just this year they started getting holes in the toes and I felt so proud! learning to really press through the floor has been such a gamechanger, it really strengthens your feet and makes everything so much nicer looking!

I recently had my first ballet performance too! I found a group in my city that is for adult dancers seeking performance opportunities and such, there's a fee for studio use and we pay for our costumes but I got a small commission that covered the costume price and a coffee haha I felt like such a fraud leading up to the performance and would get so anxious before each rehearsal and ultimately the performance was great and I improved so much since starting and your videos actually helped me keep motivated, inspired and keep my cool lol. My performance turned out better than I expected and it was so rewarding bc it happened to be a performance for a fancy senior home and the residents just looked delighted afterwards and they really enjoyed it. I only started dancing in 2020, and my training was off and on in consistency until this year, so I may still feel a little fraud like but I love dancing and performing and I'm so grateful for my opportunity and so happy for you that you got to perform this!

Girl, you’re not the only one! Performance Anxiety in the Classical Music World is also very common. I can tell you from experience (I’ve been playing the flute for almost 20 years, I’ve suffered from performance anxiety since I was 16, I’ve been getting professional gigs since I was 19 and I’m almost 32 years old) that it never goes away but you have to keep working on it. Congratulations! I’m not a ballet dancer but I am usually in the pit as a trumpet. I like doing ballets and operas more than classical concerts. It’s a much more relaxed environment in the pit than up on stage. I have been playing trumpet since I was 5 and I was in my first professional symphony in my junior year of high school. Since then I’ve done the Tchaikovsky ballets a few times over and more than a few operas and of course the regular season classical concerts. Life of someone in the music community (you included) is hard work and dedication. Keep up the amazing work! Congratulations again on your career. Also nice touch on the Egmont overture as your intro. Beethoven’s only Ballet is Creatures of Prometheus. Hope you can do that some day! Ciao!

I know this video is a month old but in the future if you don't know this information. Tutus are supposed to be stored upside down. Because it helps the costume keep it's shape. Never Vacuum seal or lay it completely flat, unless you are storing it and never wearing it again. Vacuum sealing and not storing it Properly will cause it to lose its shape.
