History?
A Brevet is a timed, long distance cycling event within prescribed time limits in designated but unmarked routes with control points to check off.
The word Brevet refers to the certificate card carried by randonneurs which gets stamped or signed at checkpoints along the way.“brevet card,” which becomes your “proof of passage” showing that you completed the entire course.
Randonneuring (rahn doe ner ing) is a type of ultracycling. A person that rides a brevet is called a randonneur (rahn doe ner, male) or a randonneuse (rahn doe nuhz, female).
Randonnée is a French word, which loosely translated, means a ramble or long journey.
Paris-Brest-Paris is a 1,200km self-supported ride from Paris, to Brest in Brittany, and back again. First run in 1891, it is by most descriptions the oldest cycling event still in existence today, and the pinnacle of the audax and randoneurring calendar.

Hi Sherry, I really love your vids and podcasts..sure subscribed ;) I just wanted to ask you about this bike-setup. Is it an endurance bike? The dropbar looks very comfy, so which one is it...and I like about it, that you can mount the Aerobars too. Hang on with the great work, and congrats for all of your achievements you gained! Congrats! Must have been cold🥶 Can you do a perfect bike fit for both the "normal" and the aerobar positions? or is the aerobar mostly for comfort vs performance?

thanks :) I was lucky, the weather was really good on that day. Yes, you can do a bikefit for both. My aerobar is set up is optimized for comfort so I can ride in this position for a long time but you still have performance gains when going on the aerobars vs the hoods, especially in countries like the Netherlands where it is really windy most of the time.
