Oh yes!! I would love this set, I don't crochet with super chunky yarn so the large size hooks are fine, and the small hooks would be wonderful bc I crochet doll clothes. And the case is so nice! I did kinda think they would have grippy handles with a floral pattern like Pioneer Woman products tend to have. But...I do love them! And the price is fair for all those hooks and lovely case!

I would just donate the hooks and put your favorite hooks in her beautiful case! I love her color combinations and the design of her stuff. I love her recipes too but I usually leave the hot stuff out

I'm proud of you Crystal. You stepped outside of your comfort zone and did a new thing with this hook review. I'm glad you did. Maybe, Pioneer woman will step up their product quality in this area. 🤔 I personally really dislike Boye hooks. So this may have saved me some money...with my 6 kids I don't need to waste money on hooks I won't use. You really are helping people when you do this....However, it's very clear you don't like doing it.❤

Same here. I love Pioneer Woman and have ALOT of her kitchen stuff. If my Walmart had these I would have bought them too, but I would have returned them right away. I don’t like Boye hooks at all. I’m anxious for them to get her yarn, but I really doubt they will, it’s such a small and sad yarn Department. I rarely make it into a city, and when I do I don’t even think about going to a Walmart because there are other places I want to shop at. So, so glad you did this review. Thank you for that!

I think if your collecting Pioneer Woman it's probably worth getting the case. Put hooks that are your go to hooks in it. I enjoyed this review was so surprised to see you do this. I know it's not your thing but enjoyed it. Thanks 😊

I love Pioneer Woman, and that case is gorgeous! I won't be buying them because I have to use special hooks for my arthritis. Ty so much for buying the hooks just to do a review on them. You always give your honest opinion & we appreciate it! 💞💞💞

I found a universal hook holding device for my rheumatoid arthritis. (Spotlight stores australia) a bit ugly but cheap and very handy. You simply change out the little rubber stopper that fits whatever size hook you're using.

I tried the foam Susan Bates things you slip, (actually have to use all your might to get your hook through, ) hahaha, but they're stuck on after you finally get them on there. I'd love to try something different. Thank you

@@ladydianna9512 I had to look it up because I long ago threw away the packaging 🤦🏻‍♀️ It's labelled as 'Boye Aluminum Crochet Handle'. It's blue & green, chubby at the top and has an assortment of lugs to fit different sized hooks. Hope that helps. Cheers from Oz 🇦🇺

It looks exactly like the Boye hook set I have, but with a prettier case. I won't be repurchasing for a different case. Thank you for reviewing these and saving me from buying out of curiosity. :)

I agree. I was so disappointed when you opened it and there were no "pioneer woman design" handles. I think that would sell it for sure to a lot of people. I am watching you today while I am sewing some blankets for charity and I don't like sewing. ☹️ So Thank You for keeping me entertained with crochet stuff. 😁

What a shock! I didn’t think I’d ever see the day you’d do a hook review! OMg! I had exactly the same reaction as you when you open the case. I totally expected the hooks to have some sort of grip in the pioneer woman signature colors.

Crystal, thanks for the review. I find it really odd to create a set without ergonomic handles. It seems no more than a money grab. Plus you have a full set, which isn't really useful for either acrylic crocheters or for those who use thread. (I see she sells thread too) It would be smarter to split the needles into two, each with their own case and some basic rubber handles. Now it isn't much more than a display item. I use Clover hooks now, but grew up with Boyes. It's very disappointing to find out shrink the sizes like that. Crochet hooks aren't cereal boxes!

I love the case ! Yes ,Yes, Yes, I’d love this crochet hook set. It’s perfect for people like me that do doilies , lace edgings , sweaters & whatever else I can make. At basically $1 a hook and a pretty case thrown in , I think it’s a wonderful deal . Truthfully my birthday is coming up , perhaps my Son will see them and buy me a set. A girl can never have enough yarn & hooks ❤.

Sometimes I use smaller steel hooks to bury threads or weave in yarn ends. The smaller hooks are sometimes hard to find at local shops, snd can be useful for sewing, lace/tatting and finishing.

Maybe since we don't use a lot of those hooks (smaller ones).she should sell the empty cases and we can put our own hooks in them. I too am shocked that they didn't have some kind of floral grip handle on them. Thank you for your review.

Love Pioneer Woman myself! Want to thank you for steeping outside your "comfort zone" Crystal! Would I buy this set? Nope! Found a set that is accurate in mm sizes and helps with arthritis in my hands. Each to their own as they say!😊

This looks like it would be a great set to take on vacation; sturdy, complete, and budget prices to have every hook you might need. I like my ergonomic handles, but having a value set to take on vacation makes a lot of sense to me. If I happen to lose a hook, c’est la vie. 😃

There is a fancy handled set online. No case and only 3 hooks,F, G and H, for $25.00. The set is rated 3 out of 5. Everyone said they were comfortable to use but the design and the hook size rubbed off within days. I recently got the Boye ergonomic 12 piece set. Walmart sells thecset for $25. JoAnns sells it for over $75. I found it for $21. I find them to be very nice.

I so appreciate your integrity! I’m a newbie to crochet only been at it a scant year and a half. Our instructor presented a beechwood hook and not sure if it’s bc I learned my first stitches with it or what. I have a few aluminum ones but definitely prefer the wooden ones. I always look for yarn and supplies especially at estate sales hoping to find a Hero hook!! Or a case of them. I wouldn’t be where I am if I hadn’t found your channel. Thanks for all you do for us.

Thank you for your honest review. I have bought a couple of different sets of hooks in the past year because I misplaced my “old faithful hooks!” I was totally disappoint in the feel of the new hooks. The newer ones seemed to be much lighter and made in Mexico! I did finally found my old hooks and now a happier crocheter. I donated my sets to a local church group who crochets hand knits) hats for the homeless.

That is true regarding the J as it is my go to hook. I personally prefer a handle with a gripper. The case of hers is pretty but inside it would appear there is nothing unique. Thank you for sharing

Thanks, Crystal!! Crochet hooks are my weakness. I don't have room to have a stash of yarn, I have to buy only what I will need for a project. Crochet hooks, on the other hand, are fair game. I make room for my collection. Since I like Pioneer Woman, and Crystal did this video, I decided to order the set. It included tiny sizes that I don't have. I haven't tried using them yet, I do like to use Boye Tapered hooks and have also learned to use Susan Bates Inline. It's a nice set for the price.

I saw these at Walmart just yesterday. I didn’t buy them because I felt they were way over priced! I only use furls now because they are so much better for my hands but I considered these for the smaller hook selection. Thank you for your review!

Thanks for the honest review! Prior to discovering that KZbin had so many crochet videos, I was content with my metal hooks, plastic hooks, and my inherited bone hooks, and steel hooks. Now I have purchased so many other hooks. I learned to crochet with a free plastic hook from Caron Knitting Mill Yarn Shop. In the last 2 weeks, I have acquired a C Hero hook, in the original plastic sleeve! The original price tag was still on the hook. I tried it out with some fingering weight wool and I was happy with the hook. My preference for a crochet hook is G or smaller.

I think the case is gorgeous! I unfortunately can’t use hooks like these so I would not buy this set but I would definitely put hero hooks in there if I where you! Whenever you need a hook you can open a pretty case 😊
