My First Crush

Using interviews with people about their first encounters with love, their animal counterparts tells their stories of humor and heartache. This was my graduation film at Kingston University. Animated By Julia Pott, Music, Sound Design by Christopher Frost.

I have spend years trying to find this video, and today after listening to “i dont wanna get over you” by the Magnetic Fields, I instantly found it. I remember when I first saw it. The boy I was in love with, had a picture related to this video around 2009 in Messenger. After a few years, we started a relationship, and then we broke up. Its been around 6 years since the time we broke up, and I am still in love with him. There isn’t a thing that I dont remember about us, even the last time we accidentally saw each other in 2018 or the first time we saw each other on 17/12/12 . I wish I had the guts to talk to him, cause god knows what he looks like now, god knows what he’s doing now... Actually, I do know how he looks like and I also know that he has a GF. But still... if you are reading this Felipe, you know who i am, and I would be anything without you.

I love this vid, it's very sweet, funny, sad, thoughtful and tender. The story with the sharks and the money makes me laugh, but the ending where he says he still loves her makes me cry! The delicacy of the animation goes really nicely with the individuality of the stories and personalities. Love it!

I remember my first crush. We dated briefly in middle school but remained best friends with him all the way up until this past July when he unfortunately and unexpectedly passed away. Very sad. Next year would have been 21 years of friendship. RIP buddy. I'll enjoy a Cuban sub for the both of us.

My first crush was my best friend's brother for a couple years when I was in elementary school. Unfortunately I never told him cause I thought it was obvious to everyone that I liked him, but I guess not. That was back just before I moved so about, 2009 around that time and a few years before and after. They moved after that but I still keep in loose contact with them so maybe someday if we meet in person again I'll bring it up as such a fond memory. Course it was many years ago so I don't have the same crush on him still, but he does look as handsome as he did before. I remember once he came in my friend's house shirtless after swimming at the apartment complex pool and I got super flustered and I stared at him and then ran off and he laughed and was like, "what?" Ah, I wish I admitted I liked him back then. I suppose I didn't because everyone saw us as "the babies" even though we were only 2 years younger than the older siblings, which really isn't that much of an age difference. But I think he liked my older sister more, specially towards the end before they moved. Then he got a girlfriend a short while before they left. There was once my friend guessed that I liked him, I denied it and ran and hid in my closet. I guess I didn't want to make things weird, I don't know. But yeah that's the most wholesome crush I ever had. Weirdly enough I'm 20 years old and still never been kissed. A mix of being timid and not having anyone like me much less have a crush on me. The one or two people who had a crush on me I found detestable, and most of those were in elementary school too. Oh well then. Oh fun fact is when this short film was made I was *in* elementary school. How strange the way time passes.

@@Flaccidtetris awww thank you for asking :) Well, me and my old childhood family friends are no longer online friends anymore after an awful big fight. I've also still never had my first kiss or dated anyone. So, sadly not much to update yet :( I realized I was trans some time after that comment tho and started transitioning. So that's pretty cool. Also found out I have severe adhd inattentive type. Still not related to my love life haha, but hopefully these self realizations may too get me closer to finding a healthy long term relationship I've always wanted. I don't think I've had any crushes really since then either.

I've been enjoying the snow as it's very rare to get proper snowfall in England but it's a lot more common here. I'm also trying to spend as much time as I can with the city's vintage trolleybuses as they're going to be withdrawn next year and I've loved them for as long as I can remember, haha. I hope you've had a great Christmas (if you celebrate)! :)

i'm that person who gets crushes on anyone that i know well and only one or two of those people i get an intense crush on where i can't get them out of my head. sometimes it goes on for year and sometimes only for a few days but eventually i loose interest. in fact, it is a FEAR of mine to have one of my crushes come up to me and ask me out or me going up to my crush and asking them out. hope fully that changes in the future...

***** if you think you are old enough for a relationship (preferably High School age)/ emotionally ready for a relationship then you could try and ask them out. but , if you're like me and you are scared to be in a relationship then try to bump it up to good friends or best friends (if you aren't there yet) and just go with the flow from there. just do whatever feels right to you. but, i'm no expert on this kind of stuff.
