I generally refuse to buy any product with MQA aka Marketing Quackery Artifice. But as MQA is now more or less a dodo, does the sound quality of the iFi improve significantly on what one hears from a mobile phone ?

I have owned the iFi Go Bar for the past 2 years and unfortunately I would not recommend it

The Go Bar was a great product when it was released in 2022 although subjectively a little bit expensive at the time. The portable audio market has moved so fast in the past 2 years and products such as the Lotoo PAW S2, Questyle M15i, L&P W4 , DACPort HD & Cayin RU7 have overtaken the Go Bar. Do I own all of the above? Yes I do. If you want to have a chat with me about portable Audio I would love to talk to you. Sure. The FiiO KA17 matches the GO Bar on sound performance and at £125 it wipes the floor on price.

It claims to be the most powerful "dongle" or so I read. Does it drive typically hard to drive headphones, and does that mean it's too noisy to use with IEMS. Also does it sound any good?

I've had the cheaper iFI Go Link for 4-5 months and am happy with it. It will be interesting to see how this compares.

I have just come across your channel and it's great! Can you please pitch the iFi GO Bar up against the Cayin RU7 or something in the same price bracket? I really struggle to learn anything from reviews unless comparisons are made. I have read that some dongles have a Line Out function so they can be used as a dedicated DAC? It would be really interesting if you could try that in your home system and give your impressions? Many thanks in advance! 🙏

It's mainly used to improve the audio from mobile devices, phones, laptops etc.

@@chimps4gimps That is also what my amp does. As I stream spotify directly to my Denon amp. When my pone gets out of reach the amp itself takes over the whole stream.

@@chimps4gimps That is what my amp also does. I stream Spotify from my phone to my amp where the DAC makes it analog. When my phone gets out of reach, the amp automatically continues by streaming itself from Spotify.
