So there is this big carfuffle on the internetz (when is there not a big brouhaha on the internetz, right?) about Disney renaming Boba Fett's ship originally named Slave I. I'm not a big Sar Wars fan so I couldn't care less, but it seems that many people don't like the renaming / rebranding. I can understand why Disney wants to rename and actually agree. Who wants their hero, or even anti-hero, be a slaveholder. Originally Boba Fett was a bad guy, but now that he has his own TV-series on Disney +, they can't have their main character be a slaveholder. Even when it is in name only. Then again I consider myself more an artist than a marketing consultant and couldn't care less how & if this renaming affects the Star Wars brand. So I was curious to your opinion, since you study marketing?
