Hey brother, Peruvian here. I recently stumbled upon your vids and been watching you nonstop. Really glad you're liking my country. Quick tip: If the altitude sickness doesn't get better, you can head to a local pharmacy and ask them if they have medicine for "soroche" (pronounced: So-ro-sheh). It should definitely help a bit more than just the coca leaf tea. If you're looking for a club environment rather than a pub/bar, you can head to two well-known and fun ones called "Chango" or "InkaTeam". Those are two I personally found extremely fun when I visited Cusco last Christmas. Best of luck!

I remember back in 2015 before I started traveling and I stumbled upon my first blog travel channel and it really grew my passion and love for traveling, and to hear that I'm creating content that people actually want to watch and inspire them to travel truly means the world to me. Thank you for the tips and thank you for watching! Saludos 🍻

Did they offer you coca tea on the plane? As flatlanders (Floridians) we are anticipating this same issue. However, we are so excited to see this next month and film it for our channel. We are a father and son who travel the World to plant trees, clean beaches and teach people about culture, history, and natural wonders. Glad to find your stuff and hope you might like ours too. -Turtle

Try muña tea, it's better than Coca. And also true, avoid heavy greasy stuff at least the 1sr day. Walk slowly, take your time, don't underestimate altitude sickness, some people end up in the hospital and serious cases even need operation, be patient. Be careful of scammers, taking photo with alpacas can cost you a lot, even if you ask how much, they'll say 5 soles and after, they'll ask for 20$US. No coca tea in the airplane, it's an hour long flight, no food served. Also, restaurants will mostly not show their prices, and will make up a price depending on how much they think you can pay. You can get good and more normal prices food when eating at a market like mercado San Pedro. Before accepting anything, a cab ride, a tour, food, photo, etc, always set up the price before hand. I recommend Uber since the price is already there, or at least, check on Uber how much is the ride and then you can ask a taxi and add around 3-5 more soles. Taxis at airport will rip you off. Walk a little further or call an Uber. Hope you enjoy your stay.

Not a good idea to have alcohol when your body it’s not acclimated to the altitude

You are starting all wrong, if you are not used to high altitude like the one in Cuzco, what is recommended for ayone is to simple rest and a very light meal. I hope you feel better and enjoy Cuzco. Good luck.

At altitude, you should eat a little lighter. Pasta is not recommended. Perhaps a soup or salad the first and second day until you acclimatize.

Before you go to a country do a research, Italian food. Hahaha. Peru is considered one of the best food in the world!!!
@CultureShockAddict
@CultureShockAddict Жыл бұрын
That's part of my love for traveling, minimum to no research. I don't want to explore a new country with any preconceived notions of anything, I want to naturally experience them and form my own bonds and experiences. Peruvian food is definitely some of the best in the world no question, but as I stated, there were so many Italian restaurants in Cusco and Lima that I naturally started craving Italian food because of the different aromas. Thank you for watching. Saludos! 🍻

Peruvian food is good alright, when done well, but it’s a little overrated, imo. It might be the best in South America though. Still, even though there are so many restaurants in Peru, it’s hard to find a good one.

Good place to retire ? We have lived in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Guatemala. We speak Spanish and love cooler weather. Seems like a cool city ? We are currently in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala at almost 8000 feet but it’s a lot higher there in Cusco.
