My First Day In India 🇮🇳 ( First Impressions of Kolkata)

In this video I will be taking you with me around Kolkata, India one of the most populated city's in India. Showing you what the streets and people are like while getting in some pretty funny and crazy situations. My first day in India was really not what I expected!

My man just passed 2 ATMs without even realizing it's an ATM. The 1st one at 9:34 written 'SBI' (State Bank of India). It's the bank's fault they didn't clearly write anywhere that it's an ATM. The 2nd ATM is at the building bang opposite to the SBI ATM that says 'Axis Bank'. In India, not all ATMs have a Bank nearby. But almost 90% of the times an ATM is situated adjacent to the bank. Great video. Welcome to Kolkata!

The hardest part about traveling to other countries is the poverty. In Tijuana I would bring lots of dollars to give to the children. I'd buy snacks and drinks for them. I did the same in Argentina. It's hard to see people suffer without giving what you can.

I want to travel to India so badly! I plan to go when I retire, but I’d like to see the country and not the cities. There’s so much noise and so many people, I can see where it may be overwhelming. But, what a beautiful country with beautiful people! In the meantime, I am learning Hindi at a very slow pace.😊

@@DrewOnTheMove I have taken French and Spanish and they were relatively easy since they’re Latin based. Hindi, of course, has proven to be a bit more challenging. They tend to put the verb at the end of the sentence. English is notably one of the toughest languages to learn, so it would be more difficult for a native Hindi speaker to learn English than a native English speaker to learn Hindi. Learning to read and write Hindi is coming along much slower than learning to speak it.

Country side of India is very green, calm less chaotic n less poverty, very less pollution but it depends on which region...u want to visit Uttarakhand, himachal , kashmiri, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Lakshadweep, Andaman n nicobar,TN , Goa has lots of beautiful places Vagamon, munnar , kashmir called as Switzerland know for it's snowy mountains n beautiful landscapes

Visit Newtown Kolkata, which is the newly built part of Kolkata city. There is a place called Eco Park, you should go there. Don't stay near the airport, lot of construction going on in that part of the city.

I have tried so many ATMs in India from so many banks they never take usa cards. I have gotten money inside a bank 1 time. I just transfer it to my Indian wife. I have also gotten for a fee the hotel to run extra on my card and give cash back to me. Should definitely visit the northeast Meghalaya and see the living root bridges.

India banks don't report to the USA IRS, which is great for my SBI mutual funds! If you need a motorcycle I know a few places to rent them in Delhi, Chennai and shillong. I would highly recommend visiting Northeast India. We have a house in Meghalaya and can't wait to retire. I also really liked pondicherry the buildings remind me of new Orleans.
