This is just an introduction to the Mediterranean island nation of Malta, between Italy and North Africa. I ended up filming a lot, so I decided to split the day of filming into two videos. In the next video I will explore the beautiful and very historic capital city of Valletta.

Maltese are the only citizens of Europe who are Semitic, like Arabs and Jewish, that's why their language is similar to both of them, although it is mixed with Italy.

Maltese is a direct descendant of Classical Arabic. It's not less Arabic than Tunisian for example. Just that Maltese has more Italian admixture in the language and Tunisian French admixture.

The small underground circular stone carved chamber with the niches in the Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum is one of the most incredible places I have ever been to and the feeling of standing inside and imaging who/when/why people used it is something that can not really be described and has to be experienced for yourself. You have to buy tickets in advance online and there are only so many per day so it can be sold out. It is literally in the middle of a residential neighborhood and was discovered under someone's house.

So much history on Malta. It's funny, I was just walking in some of the same exact spots from this video a few months ago. You got lucky that the ferry from Sliema to Valletta is finished with construction. I had to find alternative ways to get over to Valletta. I liked Malta but I liked Gozo more as it is more rural -- there's just too many people on Malta, I can only imagine the swarms of people in summer.

Hi Gabriel. Have you ever visited Mtarfa. It is a small village close to Rabat Malta. Should you wish to visit let me know I will be able to give you a small tour if you like. Mtarfa was an area which was heavily used by the Brtitissh military as barracks as well as a military Hospital. There are also great views of the northern part of malta as well.

Malta 🇲🇹 along with Cyprus 🇨🇾, Ireland 🇮🇪 and the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 are the only countries in Europe that drive on the left. Gibraltar 🇬🇮 which itself is a British colony in Europe actually drives on the right, just like the rest of mainland Europe and some islands. 😊

Seeing that laundry really makes you wonder... It seems kinda awesome to travel the world and to visit all these amazing countries, but doesnt it just get super annoying after a while? How do you plan for the future doing this job? Is there like an end goal when there is enough money to "retire" and settle down or is that like... not an option? Just you know, kinda hard to imagine living like that full time. I work from home in customer support and all I have to do is just walk to my desk and switch on my computer 5 min before my shift starts... Its like the opposite lifestyle lol...

Yeah it sure is the opposite.Sounds bloody boring as hell.Stuff that ,but if you're happy with that n it's your thing then great.This guy though, why would he choose to stop traveling if he loves it and can make a living outta it.Being paid for doing something you'd do for free anyway is my idea of paradise.I would love to do the same and I'm actually gunna give it a crack soon.Buslife traveling through New Zealand.If I can entertain anyone and get paid for it then Im calling that a Major WIN
@ageoflove1980
@ageoflove1980 Жыл бұрын
@@yyxy.oncesaid Boring? Having a family isnt boring at all mate. I wouldnt trade the world for my 15 year old son. We do al sorts of stuff together, from gaming, to going to music festivals, explore the city, plenty to do in Amsterdam and my job allows me to have the money and time to do this. And when we travel, we do it together. Last year alone we've been to Florence, New York City and the Canary Islands. And thats why I ask: Gabe obviously has a lot of friends and family he deeply cares about, thats why he keeps going back home... And if you really think he never thinks about just staying you are over-romanticizing the whole travel experience. I think youll end up feeling pretty lonely most of the time. I have traveled for longer, my longest trip was 6 months, through Russia, Mongolia, China, Tibet, Nepal and India. It was a great experience but coming home after those 6 months was great too if you know what I mean. This was a long time ago before I had a family but still... Do you really think he never ever considers what it would be like to get a girl, a bunch of kids, a big old house with a garden and just chill?
